Be sure to negotiate with the insurance on the value of your truck. And once the value is agreed upon tell them to add in taxes. For you to replace your truck you’ll have to pay taxes on a replacement and they’re responsible for that too.

Yeah definitely a TL. As long as you had control of your lane and he was changing lanes you would be NAF.

Also alot of miss information on here about insurance and TL don't listen to anyone but your adjuster. No one on here knows how your policy reads and the insurance and TL value is not a nogitiation, the only thing you can nogiciate on is the condition of your vehicle. The ACV is determined by market research from local comps. Most likely done by jd power

Def Not a total based on the one pic without it being torn down.
And the TL value absolutely is negotiable.
Says the guy who used to settle total losses for an insurance company, now works for a company that provides total loss evaluations, and negotiated a settlement his personal car yesterday.

I do agree that there’s a lot of mis-information here ... including yours.

    Wow, not even close dude.

The adjuster works for the insurance and his job is to minimize the loss to his employer!

The value based on jd power?!? What are you even talking about.. I’ve dealt with insurance way to many times and in my state, it’s always been Blue book and comparable listings in the area.. and EVERY SINGLE TIME, the insurance provided “comparable” listings are way off, not even close my vehicles options or miles... Every time I’ve had to let them know why their listings do not match what I had, and I had to provide my own comparable listings to bring my value up. And Yes every time I was able to bring their “offer” up by several thousand dollars aswell then have them factor in the tax I would have to pay on said replacement.

Don't let the dealers bother you. Get a lot of internet quotes for what you want and go from there.

    Glad you're okay.

Thats good for you i handle TLs every day. Post the TL report and your payout and let's see how that negiation went... The only changes to the acv from the insurance are based on vehicle condidtion prior to crash ever thing else is non negiatiable comps

Actually insurance is there to make you whole not give you free money.

And yes dude jd power is a market research company used to find comps on your vehicle used by most top insurance companies. You can find your own compsnbut it's not a negiation they are just added in if they are valid and could raise or lower your acv.

If it can't be fixed don't worry, it is a well known fact that all Tacoma's go to heaven.

When did I say free money?
I simply said he needs to negotiate to get the proper amount it would take to replace his vehicle.. the insurance will always aim low.. and the insurance is always happy to ignore taxes and fees he otherwise wouldn’t have had to pay if it werent for the accident..

you think valid proper comps aren’t part of negotiation? If that were the case then why doesn’t the insurance include better comps from the start? Oh right, they want to pay as little as possible, and they likely don’t know or care about the little details or options of your vehicle.

In this case the insurance would likely compare any model Tacoma’s within 3 years, and within 30k miles... insurance doesnt care if the totaled vehicle is an TRD 4x4 OR w/ tech package, the insurance will use SR, Sr5s, and 4x2s as comps and not care..

THIS. Don't let getting into a new truck cost you a single dime. If they start fussing just say "idk, now my neck hurts all the sudden" haha

Anybody know if aftermarket front bumpers affect how or if the airbags decide to go off? I'd hate to have some insurance adjuster give me s*** due to the Pelfreybilt bumper. Seriously, I don't know what makes the airbag go off.

Recommending that the OP commit insurance fraud is not a very good idea.

OP, sorry about the truck, I would be interested in a comparison if you go with a PRO.

The word you're looking for is: negotiation.
