I suspect that’s why they made the overdrive relatively low on the m/t, so it can just do it’s thing in 6th without shifting constantly

Automatic is just that. Boring, predictable, does it for you, joyless, mundane and lethargic.

I can guarantee this forum will only sway you back and forth. The guys that like manuals, really like manuals. I can understand this somewhat in the form of motorcycle and dirt bikes. I would never ever own an automatic motorcycle/dirt bike. The function of shifting is so involved with the experience (and especially if you ride 2 strokes) that owning an automatic would be useless.

However, while I enjoy driving a manual and agree that driving a manual is more engaging, a manual in a truck really isn’t fun.

My basis for the decision was the truck is a tool and I could accomplish the work done with said tool better with an automatic. From towing, off-roading, hauling dirt bikes, and hunting. An automatic would serve me better (and after doing a 3 hour woods race, I don’t really want to screw with a clutch).

Last thing, was I kind of correlate manuals to bolt action rifles. They are more engaging, more fun to shoot and offer that mechanical-human interaction you get from a manual transmission. But do I want to bring a bolt action to 3 gun when everyone else is running semi auto AR’s? No.

The auto kind of lags when u need to accellerate, also wheeling with a manual gives u more control over your idle speed.

I have an auto but am thinking a manual would have been nice.

    Pro’s and cons to each
    Grass is always greener.

I will say i have heard more complaints from auto owners than stick.

Manual for the win. Plus who know how much longer they will be available. FYI I am heavily biased with a 5mt and 6mt.

That kinda looks like a regular GT scoop, the Shaker would have been on a Mach1.

I love the adaptive cruise in my MT. I use it all the time, works beautifully. Its even still engaged after a gear shift, i love it.

This. The adaptive cruise control is a game changer with the 6MT. It works so well, and you can shift while still in adaptive cruise. You can shift without touching the gas, and you can even rev match downshifts. There seems to be a cutout when you press the clutch, but it reengages smoothly when you let off the clutch. With this manual and with this system, it makes highway driving easy and cathartic when you want, but you still have the control to get a bit crazy when you want.

Oh nice, would have thought you’d have to reactivate the cruise when you changed gears

and correct me if I’m wrong...you can choose between adaptive and regular cruise by long-pressing the cruise button right?

Same here.. keep the speed reasonable and it'll get the advertised mileage.

It does work remarkably well lol

The only time I find it acts a little weird is when you're coming down a sorta sheepish hill and the truck is backing off to keep the speed down.. it will decelerate a bit too far, then get on it again to speed up. It's not a big deal, except if you're starting to go back up another hill right away. The rpms may drop a touch too much for 6th in that situation.
Never fear, cause you can do a 6-5 and stay cruising lol
