nah i have bigger pipe exiting the muffler to a 3'' tip thus creating even more resonance thus more sound.

I believe the sound seems louder when under the truck from it bouncing off the under body and reflecting outwards toward the people outside of the truck hearing it. Correct me if I'm wrong.Thats the way I'm seeing it, and exiting the exhaust at the bumper would make it not as loud in the cab, I'm talking about standing to the side of the truck too not behind it.

well..if you stand passenger side on mine its loud..and not super loud on the driver.

while yes in close proximity having it go down does make it a bit louder. But not from far away really was my impression from having my chopped and hearing others.

I've had both mufflers, FM sounds good in the lower RPM's. MF has no back pressure and sounds okay.

I did a muffler swap from factory to Flowmaster super 40 and it sounds really good in the lower RPM's, once your above 55 you don't hear it to much so it don't get annoying on highway. Right around 1500 RPM is the sweet spot, and sounds great at idle. For the price I'm very happy with it.

No change in MPG that I've noticed, just sounds WAY better. The super 40 was only about $60 on Amazon, that & a nice 3" tip & I'm happy with it. Might change it up down the road in a few years with cat-back & duals, we'll see. I heard the super 40 on a youtube video & was sold on the sound.

Heard a 2nd Gen Tundra roll past today.

    Dual exhaust... sounded like shit.

Seriously... it sounded like a Civic with a fart can. No tailgate badge on the right so it was likely a V6.

They all sound the same.....the motor size is what makes it sound "good" unless you change headers etc. Just get the loudest one to your liking!

Mine doesn't? Sounds deep and my buddy's magnaflow sounds like the TRD one which sounds exactly like my old flowmaster 50.....to each their own I guess!

I have an 11" magnaflow. Its not very loud at all until 3k rpms. Same volume as a flowmaster 40, sounds deeper and smoother than when i had the 40 on a couple days ago

Edit: i have the magnaflow part #11366
