If you read through this thread it might help you understand
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/tooter-2-7-intake-manifold-spacer.286076/
The spacer makes the separate intake runners longer. Having longer runners on an intake help out with off idle and mid range torque shorter runner are better for top end breathing. Toyota probably designed it to have somewhere in the middle so adding length will help it on the low end. A pretty good example is to look at how a tuned port or tpi Chevy is designed and check out pictures of its intake and then check out some Dyno sheets from them compared to traditional performance v8 it would have the same really long intake runners and really good off idle and mid range torque but run out of steam past 5000 rpm. An excellent truck motor that came in Camaros and Corvettes.

The list has been updated as I have neglected this thread. Am I missing anyone?

I can confirm that the LCE header has a distinct effect in dropping the torque curve. My intake side of the equation, to date, is stock.

One note of concern that i had in this am's brief reading of Tooter's install, was that it spaced out the rest of the intake assembly on the horizontal (the intake is mounted vertically on the side of the head) to the point that he was bending mounting studs to make things work. I'm not real fond of Mickey-mousing stuff like that, and need to do a re-read.. gotta be a better solution than that.

Look guys. Everyone just read this. You all have questions and all but this is an interest post. Not a FAQ, nothing has been made but if a manifold spacer were to be in production.... would you be interested? There are no more details than what I have listed and don't expect any till we get 15-20 people.

This isn't a group buy, it's a feeler. I want to see if there is enough interest available to have something made. Adding your name to the list has no commitment whatsoever. Meaning, if we get 20 people and only 5 people buy then that's fine. We just need to show the manufacturer that there is enough interest out there to make him produce a manifold spacer.

I’d be interested in a flange with 2.5” spacer, so I can weld up a proper intake for a turbo.

Do you want me to mark you down or no? You're not exactly answering the main question. I'm not making a feeler for a flange 2.5" spacer..... I'm making a feeler for a manifold spacer.

Yes, interested. Wouldn't really need a flange, if it matches the profile of the OE intake as Tooter's did, if I did a two piece intake.

So this thread has been up since Friday. If we don't get 15-20 people to show interest by Sunday the 19th then I'm going to close this.

Thanks for adding me. I still haven't seen a reply as to what material will be used for this thing and what thickness?
Did I overlook it or is that still left TBD?

You're not the OP so how would you know? Was it posted somewhere in this thread?

Are you talking about the tooter spacer or this proposed one? Didn't know there was a prototype yet...

The tooter spacer, it's a machined delrin plastic spacer.

Okay, I don't have any use for that. I need one made from steel.

Hopping that whoever manufactures the one that this thread is about can make me one
