Manual 4x4 swap

Hi guys so I have a 2001 Tacoma pre runner with the 3rz auto. I wanna manual swap and while I’m at it make it 4x4. From what I understand I need w59 tranny but what else does this require what is needed for the 4x4 conversion.

 

Tcase, driveshaft, axles, clamshell, 4wd ecu, 4wd knuckles etc.... Best if you can just get a donor truck

If you have the identical year and model 4x4 parts truck sitting right next to your truck this is a something you can do - it will still be a lot of work.

I did these auto to manual and 6 cylinder to V8 swaps years (decades) ago when vehicles had carburetors and simple electrical systems, it was a lot of work back then and sometimes the results were less than optimal too.

It is much easier to like what you have or buy what you want.
