2016 DCSB TRDOR manual in quicksand
Has anyone seen a manual in person yet? My local dealer who is great to work with laughed at me when I asked when they would get in a manual. Said they should have autos showing up next week but did not think he would get in any manuals without one being specifically ordered by a customer. I want a manual damnit! I have owned 4 Toyota trucks and I just cant imagine a Auto for the amount of overland type driving that I do.

He did quote me 100-300 over invoice on any 2016 Tacoma that I ordered. This dealer has always sold their Tacomas at around $2000 below MSRP so I believe him that they would sell a 2016 just above invoice. I just would like to hear some opinions about the manual before I order.

What did you expect on this site?

And your guy is right - the dealer has to manually request a manual in their allocations.

I ordered one, might get it in November. Would love to test drive one, seems everyone buys auto's these days. One of the major reasons I am buying a Taco is for the manual trans.

Agree. Once I order mine I it will be my first new Toyota ever. I have always bought used Toyota's and it seems like every time I buy one it becomes harder and harder to find a manual. I guess most drivers are city drivers so I can understand the auto, however I always hear people complain about the shift points. If you buy a manual you can change the shift point each and every time you accelerate. I digress.....
I just hate to order something with out driving one or at least getting some feedback from a fellow manual lover.

The American menu of models with manual transmissions is extremely unsatisfying. Basically it's a choice between the Sport (with the lame-ass scoop), a Double Cab short-bed, 4x2, and 4-cylinders. Lame. Weak.

    Meanwhile, in Canada, ...

This is all I have found so far. I too am very interested in a manual. One of the dealerships I am in contact with is "working" on getting me a manual to test drive but they are still a month out from getting their first 16 Tacomas which will all be autos.

Which is why I ordered one ;)

I haven't seen anything in the country as far as a V6 with the manual out yet. Maybe they aren't in production yet? I ordered mine 4 weeks ago and still don't have a build date :annoyed:

What???? I thought I saw pricing for Manuals on DCSB Off Roads with a V6. Pretty sure this is a choice. If not, then WTF Toyota....Manuals are required in a truck that will truly be used off-road truck IMHO.

From all the research that I have done I have not found any one stating that they have. Hopefully if someone actually sees one of the v6 manuals they will post here. Inquiring minds want to know.

I thought they were available. Thanks for clearing that up before I collapsed from anger.

Not unavailable, just rare it seems. I haven't seen anything about them other than that one picture here on TW. Looking at cars.com I see a lot with the 4cyl and manual but not a single V6. I have a feeling that is what's holding up my build and why I don't have a build date yet

If you wait another year I'm sure you can buy a truck that drives it self with some Google tech. That way you can paint your toe nails on the way to work at the salon.

FUUUUUNNK yes. I'll take it. Technology is great! If I could have my truck not require my attention and efforts on my morning commutes so I could rest or do whatever I totally would!

I'd still off-road and be In control then though

New goodies aren't always a negative! Radios were new at one point too!
