Does anyone know where I can get the little white indicators for the climate control knobs? I think the previous owner removed them, but it's impossible to see where the knobs are turned in the dark. Pic below is from a truck I saw online. I just have an empty groove where those white bars are. Thanks!

Stock wheels and suspension. Random "utilitarian" mods featured on this great forum.
They're actually clear strip of the knob painted white. You can get some white touch up paint (or whatever color matches your trim) and paint them.

The piece is actually gone. Nothing to paint!

That's a $500 part from the dealer, I would look to salvage.
Strange original owner did this, hopefully that's the only thing they modded on this truck

“Obsessive compulsive chrome delete disorder” to the max eh!? What an oddly specific thing to trigger someone. “I LITERALLY cannot drive at night with these climate knobs!” Hahaha

Good luck OP, salvage yard is for sure the best option. The entire knob might need replacing, here’s to hoping they “just pop off” for an easy swap.

They come apart super easily. Here's a video of them being disassembled.

Thanks, everyone. I haven't done any significant mods yet.
Previous owner did a few. I'll try to find the indicators at a salvage yard. I have no idea why they would've removed the plastic piece.

The PO also installed the LED map lights (I think with MESO lights). They're the grid-looking light. They're insanely bright. I may be removing those down the road. They're excessive for my taste.

I'll let you know if I figure something out.

Even when fully intact, I have a hard time determining where those knobs are pointing. I'm not a big fan of their design. If I needed to replace them, I might look for an aftermarket version with a clearly visible position marker.

Also, the stock overhead lights leave a bit to be desired in output. I find them almost useless for finding anything in the truck. Luckily I can use the flashlight on my phone.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that finds them hard to use unless it’s dark. There must be a better way.

Maybe check eBay. There's a chance someone swapped to aftermarket knobs, and is selling their old ones.

I wonder if the little red optic from the front site of a pistol or rifle would for in that groove. I think Springfield calls it a tritium site.

Might, but I think you can buy that small fiber optic sticks anywhere, sob you don’t overpay.

if you want to go this route, look for “fiber optic rod” it’s not a tritium site

Update! I bought FO rods from Amazon. I bought them a little large, then cut them down with a fresh straight razor blade.
End product... I can see where my climate control knobs are at night! Thanks everyone for the advice!

Congrats. Now you can leave it on max AC for the next 4-5 months.

I’ve been thinking for a while that I would like to design a ring add-on so each dial position is raised and immediately obvious when you touch it. My ‘98 Mazda (Ranger) dials could be adjusted instantly on the fly. You could touch it without looking and know exactly where each dial was and click it or spin it to exactly where it needed to go. I think it was an uglier but superior design.
