The schematics should tell you all that. There will be numbers next to the wires denoting which pins they correspond to on the connector. Give me a few minutes.

2003 Double Cab schematics marked "window"

And I highly recommend you read the below PDF marked "manual", that will tell you how to read the schematic, and identify the pins, and connector position.

Team, I have the same problem which is I plan to install 2003 Tacoma door panels to my 2000 Tacoma. The passenger switch was excellent the panel and the door/switch lock fit. The only change I did was to exchange the door old speaker to the 2003 tacoma speaker because the 2003 panel will not fit with the old speakers installed.

The problem now is the driver side where both switches are different. As you can see in the pictures, the gray one on the left old switch has 9 metals while on the right the brown one new switch has 8 metals and cannot work with the existing plug. I plug the new switch, start the engine but the window and door lock will not work. Any suggestions on how to install the 2003 switch to a 2000 plug will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

With the exchange of the panel doors, I loose the courtesy light and do not have tweeter sound and power window for the new panel since I do not have the cable connection for it this is I can have the 2003 switch installed.

Sorry you’re SOL if you want to run the 2003 switch on 2000 wiring. They’re completely different and not compatible.

If not compatible should I get the 2003 plug and replace the 2000 plug? Do the electrical cables match or there will be an extra cable since the 2000 plug has 9 metals while the 2003 has 8. What do you think?

I don’t understand. What door harness do you have? If you have 2000 door harnesses you can only run 2000 master switches. Also did you just plug the door harnesses into the truck? Because that won’t work. While the plugs are there there are parts missing in the integration module along with a few wires on the dash harness.

Lol. If you follow my instructions on the first few pages it’s easy to make your own retrofit system.

My apologies for Reviving this thread BUT I NEED TO KNOW haha
Just confirming, 97 4runner regulator on the passenger side fits 98-00 tacoma? If that’s the case, I’m gonna assume the drivers side shouldn’t have any issues?

No, I don’t think the regulators are the same. And the passenger side and driver’s side regulators AND motors are different.

I have some extra ones for sale if interested. For a Tacoma.

I don’t build these anymore, sorry. You can build one yourself following my schematic diagrams.

@BartMaster1234 I have been lurking on this thread for months now. I just wanted to thank you for all the info you placed out here. I just finished upgrading my truck to have power windows, mirrors and locks. I used the info you posted and it helped me immensely. I may have been able to figure it out on my own but without your info there is a high probability I would have hit a rough spot and given up. Again thanks.

    Wait... you have a supercharged 2.7.... I have a 2.7... I need a supercharger next (or even a turbo).

    No problem.

I sure do have a supercharged 2.7l. The 2.7l supercharger is hot trash though, undersized blower and eats fuel for breakfast lunch and dinner. Go for a turbo.

Just want to say thank you for providing this incredibly detailed post. I found a set of color/generation matching doors for my Taco, and my friend and I were able to pull this off.. It was mostly my friend but its so amazing to have power doors/windows with a remote. Thanks amigo!

I should've taken a lot more photos, but here's my old vs new door. I even got the bigger mirrors and tint with the new doors .
