In my case it is most often the springs rust in place and then when you move things it just deforms the springs till they no longer work

I keep telling myself I am going to get the parts to refurbish them but never do

    Then just throw them out

I haven't looked for the rubber ring. If you find it let me know. I'll order and try it out. That's where you would get the most resistance from turning the handle. It sits around the red circle to seal it from the body. If it expands it gets tight and harder to turn. I'm not an expert though. I see someone else said the spring could be rusty

I didn't look to hard for it either. There was some rust on the springs but it didn't provide much resistance during the test lock and unlock. Looking on rockauto they have brand new Aisin hubs for $100...might just do that if it ever gets really bad.

You're talking about this o-ring for the hub dial, right? 43532-60010 is the correct part number for Tacoma manual hubs.

The guy at the dealership couldn't find it when I talked to him over the phone. I'll try again when its gets stuck again.
