but I do when I drive a manual.


Plusly, lots of people are amazed they still make trucks with manual trannys. In my experience anyway... Some girls might even be impressed!

One of my ex girlfriends didn't even know what a manual was...

Now, that said..one good thing about a manual is that it can be a theft deterrent. Think of it this way, how many people (wayward kind included) are actually confident enough to hop behind the wheel of an unfamiliar vehicle with a manual transmission and drive it like they stole it? I'm willing to bet it's less than those that could just plunk it in DRIVE and tool away with your pride and joy.

 

curious- is there a curb weight difference between the auto and manual? usually (but not always) a MT comes in a little lighter than it's AT counterpart

 

I would suggest that the engine immobilizer is more likely to keep your truck from being stolen than the transmission type

Nah, it's heavier. The swollen ego of those who drive Manuals offsets the weight of the transmission.
