So I have heard very conflicting information on this forum regarding the process behind the re gearing of a manual 5 lug. Many people are saying that re gearing the manual requires a 3rd member while others say the gear swap is just as easy as the automatic. Can someone please tell me what the regear on the manual entails as well as what gears my truck has? My Taco is a 2013 5lug regular cab manual.

its easy if you buy the 3rd member complete. 3.31 is 5lug 5 speed 2wd stock gearing. there are youtube videos on changing 3rd members . and lots of pictures on here just look. plan on spending 1000+ if buying new. unless you find one at junkyard . or in the buy/sell/trade. i would buy new you have a new truck. ( www.eastcoastgearsupply.com/i-788575-tacoma-8-4-non-eld-t100-tundra-3rd.html ) search that ..
