Technically it's staying down. The shift lever widens and you basically shove the grommet and boot down, and the tapper holds it tight.

The bottom side of the grommet needs to be trimmed a bit for a snug fit, took me about 5 minutes with a dull pair of scissors. Mines been on for 6 months now, and hasn't moved a bit.

Thanks for the grommet tip, was trying to figure out how to solve this problem without spending $100 of the Bro knob that I don't even really like.

Still think I need a bigger grommet but works for now!

I said the same thing. It's been on 6 months, hasn't moved, and I'm not planning on changing it. :D

    Working on it.
Anybody installed the URD shifter and Trd knob? I love the way my 17 shifts so far (had it a month but only has 250 miles on it) and dont mind keeping it the way it is but if the URD is a improvement then why not right?

de-badged, tint front windows, led interior lights, door sill protectors, led b/up lights, 5" factory step rails, yellow turn signal bulbs, added 4 D ring tie downs. Took off the black vinyl stripes between the doors. Changed the grill - from Custom Car Grills, Finally got a tonneau cover put on. 31" light bar ( white & amber ), tailgate light bar, sunvisor covers ( to hide warning labels ), new bedside decals - still too cold to put them on tho. Flag decals to go on too, again too cold still. Got a 2 switch, switch plate to replace that useless cubby hole to the left of the steering wheel.. still to be installed ( hopefully this weekend ). Upgraded the tires to G/Y Duratracs... loving them, no plowing the driveway !!
Here's mine - from SpeedDawg.com Goes with my bulldog edition truck..

Where did you get the black ball with the white shift pattern on it? I looked everywhere with no luck, so I settled for the gray TRD one.

I really wanna be part of the RGTC for life. However, I am just a dumb aircraft mechanic. Did you guys take the time to cut grooves for each individual extrusion on the inside of the boot or did you just trim one whole side of the grommet and call it a day?

Trimmed one side and pushed it in! Mine has not moved since I did it. Used loctite to install the knob without the nut and it hasn't moved either.

Trippy, I just realized that you guys don't have cup holders in front of your shifter.

And you center console pocket is a different size.
