    Morning Team,
    I have a 2018 Sport, Double Cab, 4wd with a 6 Speed manual.
I've had it for about 2 years. Bought it used with 25k on it......it currently has 56K.

Since I've had it- "mostly" when I have the A/C on, the Shifter will rattle (the rattling noise is coming from under the shift boot). Usually, the rattling happens when the engine is under load like I'm going uphill or accelerating hard-ish. Typically, it happens when it's in 3rd or 5th gear, but it will happen in other gears occasionally as well.

Recently its also started doing it without the A/C on...but it is infrequent.

I asked the local Toyota Service department about it, and they just charged me money to trouble shoot it and said they found nothing wrong.

The only reason I AM concerned is that I had an almost identical 2017 Tacoma (till it was totaled) and the shifter never rattled at all.

Has anyone else with the Manual Transmission experienced this? Happen to know a fix/remedy?

Thank you in advance for your time and any assistance.
    Cheers- Bryan.

It’s pretty much normal from what I have been told some manual transmissions are worse than others. If you do a search you will find lots of threads about it.

Sounds normal. The stick in this truck wiggles like a tractor.

    This and that
I saw something about one of the shields being noisy, essentially just amplifying any sound. The fix was grommets or soundproofing. And supposedly it was remedied in the later shields with a layer of soundproofing.

There are couple poly bushings, one on the shifter lever ball end, one in the chute. Maybe go ahead change them.
