Trying to figure out if this is possible, but is there a switch that can be manually operated (always on/off) in the rear bed/topper and has the ability to be activated by a switched circuit (Switchpros, SPOD, Powerswitch, etc.)? OR a similar solution? Sacrifice always on vs. switchable/is one use case mutually exclusive from the other?

Envision: overhead glass topper work light.

    Thanks!

Might want to fill in the info of what you're situation of use is. And an example of exactly what you're looking to accomplish.

Switches & relays are basic. If you need something more complicated than a specialized controller would be up your alley.

And it might be helpful if you describe the ability of the switch you want to use, :
    • SPST (Single Pole Single throw)
    • SPDT (single pole double throw)
    • DPST (double pole, single throw)
    • DPDT (double pole double throw)

You need a relay with 5 prongs.
    Prong 85 - Ground
Prong 86 - Power FROM your switch pro or dash switch.
    Prong 87 - 12V positive
Prong 87a - Power FROM the switch inside your bed. Must be able to carry enough current to illuminate your bed lamp.
Prong 30 - Power TO your light

If your switch pro or dash switch is off, then prong 87a will be connected to pin 30. In this condition if your bed switch is off, the light will be off; if the bed switch is on, it will provide power through the relay to the light. If your switch pro or dash switch is on, then prong 87 will be connected to pin 30 and the light will get power from the 12v positive source connected to pin 87.
