HAvent read through all this, but my 1998 squeaks bad, worse maybe in warm weather. I have lubed it but rarely and it seemed to help briefly. If I were to lube it more diligently I might be able to cure it, don't know. My new 14 wont have one...

Mine squeeked when I first got it. Dealer fixed it under that one TSB and it went away. Then after my warranty was over it started squeeking again. Now... Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

I just dont care anymore :D

I just bought a new 2014 Tacoma 4x4 6-speed and the clutch has a rocking chair squeak when applied. I am extremely upset. I've had it in for repair for the same issue 3 times already. They can't fix it. They've replaced the master cylinder and the entire clutch pedal assembly. I am waiting for a corporate tech to figure out what to do next. DO NOT BUY A 6 speed, you will regret it. I am now trying to do a lemon case and it is frustrating.

I love my '13 4x4 6 speed. LOVE IT. I'd guess mine doesn't squeak, but honestly it may. The truck is great and I doubt a squeaky pedal would make me think otherwise. I'll see if I notice on the way to work today.

WOW! My 1st Gen 2000 TRD 5 speed squeeked a bit after rain...would last a day, two maybe three but always went away till the next rain. I never thought about it nor worried, really thought itbwas isolated to mine...made it special that way.

Its a Tacoma Baby!!! Damn thing will run & drive on three wheels, no clutch, engine on fire fleeing a pallet fire in a tobacco field!
    So I am told...

Its a man made machine, I always figured things could be worse, the damn clutch could start slipping or a wheel could come off flying down to Ikea on a Saturday. Thankfully neither ever happened.

I look forward now to a squeek, squawk or silence with my new 6 speed SR5 D.C. 4X4!

Yea right? Mine does but it doesn't bother me. My 09 silverado z71 had a rattle around the firewall on the drivers side that I never found nor did two different mechanics lol.. just turn the radio up and ignore it.. but honestly toward the end of me having that truck I didn't even hear it anymore

2013 access cab 2.7 5 speed with 19500 miles. Squeaks like crazy inside and outside the car. Outside squeaks only when the car is on. Also my pedal doesn't come up all the way. Need to pull it up with my foot. Waiting for snow to stop to bring it to service. Don't wanna get stuck with a corolla in the snow.

Sorry, a squeaky petal does not make a vehicle a lemon, period.

Mine squeaks too. I haven't actually heard it in ages as the truck is still a rock and only when my wife points it out do I briefly realize it is there.

If that's the worst thing I have to deal with in owning a truck, I figure I'm doing pretty damn good.

First I put some on the piston the bottom part that slides into one another, and that didn't work and that didn't work so I applied it to the underside of the peddle at the pivot point and that had seemed to work really well so far.

i live in the hot ass heat. so my clutch squeeks only after about 3 to 4 hours in the hot ass direct sunlight heat. can someone please repost the pdf tsb link for this? i went to dealer today. they had it in sunlight for 2.5 hrs and didnt find the problem.

so now i have to drop it off all day for them to check it longer, when in direct heat. so instead of waiting any longer i need to show them the tsb

I voted in this thread a while back shortly after I got my truck and my pedal was squeaking, the dealer couldn't duplicate it and wouldn't perform the TSB. I was a bit pissed about it but now two years later it hasn't squeaked for over a year so I'm happy now, hopefully it doesn't return.

Sorry for the necro post but I just hit 26,000 miles and my clutch started to squeak. Also my dash is starting to rattle a bit. I have to thump it with my fist and it goes away for a few minutes...

Good luck with the pedal squeak.

Regarding the dash rattle, mine did that for a bit and then just stopped after almost a year. No idea why. There is a thread on here where someone tied it to a wire loom behind the dash. Another found that putting a little bit of hard foam between the dash and windshield killed the rattle.

Mine started at 22k and they lubed it up for me in January this year, six months later at 28k it was intermittent and now at 31k it's 10x worse than the first time. I agree with chasing the lemon law, I didn't pay for a truck that drives me crazy every time I drive it.
