I've had the squeek issue for some time now. When I depress the clutch the squeek seems to come from inside the cab, like from pedal. But I do remember having a squeek hearable easier on the outside of the cab during the summer; I don't notice this squeek anymore after taking it to the mecahnic, but the squeek coming from inside the cab is still there...I just put the radio on or listen to music and I can't even hear it :)

i had an 08 prerunner 6 spd and had the squeak. I got the clutch pedal replaced after the second time back for the noise. I though it was my shifting at first, but then my clutch throw bearing went as well... i think that was what it was called (the truck made a sweet little whine when idiling )
it would be your best interest to be nice to the toyota techs and service writers, they are willing to work with ya if your cool with them... plus all the tsb's can be addressed if their on your side!

Tried grease. Didn't help. I found something online last night that seemed to imply that this clutch issue was potentially related to place of manufacture. Given that I've had the pedal assembly replaced multiple times, I'm sure this has much merit.

My pedal squeaks when its hot outside...and when its cold its slow to come back out until the truck warms up.

Thank you Toyota. I hope you fired the idiot who thought it would be a good idea to make a plastic pedal arm. I also hope you fired the people who approved that idiot's idea.

Mine started squeaking when I'd had it (from new) about 4 months. It continued for about 6 weeks (no time to get to dealer), then it slowly stopped and hasn't started again in several months, so I'm not worried about it. I assume whatever was rubbing wore down enough to eliminate it.

BTW - I didn't vote since my situation wasn't an option...

My clutch pedal squeaks for me during the hot season. During the cold there isn't any for the pedal, but the leather around the gear shift lever squeaks when I drive in fifth gear on the freeway.

    Too few to list.
Pedal started to squeak at around 3K and when it is hot outside. I've read about it before I took it to the dealer and I believe there was a TSB out replacing the pedals but it didn't include the 09 and they wanted me to leave the truck and I didn't want to so I went home, adjusted the pedal and greased it and I never heard it squeak again 6K miles later. Although it has been cold so I guess I'll have to wait when it warms up.

yeah people here are talking about 2 totally different issues!! The mojor issue with stick shift tacomas is the throwout bearing keeps going bad on most of their transmissions.. many people get a new throwout bearing or new clutch kit or even a new transmission and it seems that no matter what they do to try and fix this the noise will eventually come back. This is a major issue that toyota has not been able to fix yet. I learned to live with this noise on my tacoma.

I thought the throwout bearing thing was on 6 speeds. And the automatics have to worry about sudden acceleration because the ecu has too much to do managing the engine and the tranny. I'd rather just have a squeak and not have to worry about either thing. To me it's gotta be either the slave cylinder, shift fork pivot or clutch pedal pivot unless it can somehow be the springs on the clutch disc.

Mine was definitely the pedal assembly. On the third repair attempt, the dealer took the pedal assembly apart and I was able to see where some of the components were wearing abnormally. And on each repair attempt, the squeaking and binding returned within 5k, almost to the mile (and that's creepy in itself).
