Well I have read about all the squeak problems, my solution is to pull and GREASE the plastic post that makes contact pushes into cylinder. few thousand miles, and no squeak. It took 15 seconds, so when it comes back do it again.

I'm using spray graphite lube from PB Blaster. It's been noise free for a couple weeks. Use cardboard as a drip catcher, since over application will drip before it dries. It will dry to a hard graphite coating, won't attract dirt, and is not affected by temperature(like grease).
The external squeak is from the clutch slave cylinder. A little rust between that and the shift fork will cause a squeak. Clean and lube with the same graphite spray.

It also works well on hitches and shackles!

Good thing I'm limber. I put my head down by the clutch to try to hear this and I dang near got into an accident.

tightened the nut behind clutch pedal by hand and squeek gone!

I'll report back how long that last once I notice the squeek again.

Graphite only worked for a week. Guess I need to find some thick grease. the factory grease worked for about 9 months till it all got displaced.

I used Magnalube teflon grease on the shift fork fulcrum. Hasn't squeaked for two months now.

My 97 pedal squeeks like crazy. I always thought it was just do to age. I'm looking at getting a 2012 and was so excited to have a new squeek free pedal. But now you guys have me worrying the new one will squeek too!
Years ago I had the squeal when I let off, I eventually replaced the throwout bearing because the clutch was going and had to be replaced anyway, had about 150,000 miles on it. Squeal was gone for a little while, but came back within I'd say 6 months to a year. Been that way for about 70,000 miles and no other clutch problems.

I had this problem, I just tightened what appeared to be the free play adjuster. I, in my paranoid nature, measured the free play after I'd ajusted it to the point where the squeaking stopped and it was still in spec. Haven't had the problem since other than a few *very* quiet random instances.

You found a 2012 in a manual? I thought they were just about extinct.

I had the throwout bearing go bad at around 55K, covered by warranty since I bought it at a dealer with 40K on it.

I've had the petal squeak on the clutch since about a month after that. I don't even hear it, to be honest, I'm so used to it. But whenever the wife hops in, she mentions it and I hear it for the duration of the trip. Then it fades into the background again :)
