I think my creak is coming from worn/ cracked plastic bushings. But this is only a theory because I cannot physically see the bushings due to their location. My goal in the near future is to figure out the dimensions of these plastic bushings and machine my own bushings from brass. I think this could eliminate the side to side play in the pedal and hopefully this god-awful squeaking. The hardest part right now is just getting the dimensions because I can't just disassemble my clutch assembly and not have my truck for a week or two.

Right, because that is the point where there is rubbing/friction. Lubricate that and there is no more wear or squeak.

Nothing is twisting. The joint is rubbing along the plan of pedal/piston motion.

As I mentioned, it isn't spinning.

It isn't twisting. It is just rubbing.

The only thing different is that a ball is round and this joint is practically square.

There is a lot of movement, which is why there is wear and squeak.

That's what I thought too for mine. Do yourself a favor and lubricate the point where the master cylinder shaft end cap contacts the back of the pedal lever. If it doesn't work, then you've lost 15 seconds and a tiny drop of grease. If it does work, you've saved yourself from spending hours ripping the pedal out for nothing.

Doesn't work. I've lubed every joint/ pivot inside and outside the cab. The bushings are simply garbage.

It isn't the upper lever pivot, there is no bushing. Half way up the pedal lever, look where the master cylinder points. Lift the pedal, push the pedal down. There is a HOLE in the back of the pedal lever. A big hole. Push grease in there. Lots of grease.

I know exactly what you're talking about. It's called the clevis sub assembly and it fits in the bore in the backside of the pedal arm. The bushings in the top portion of the clevis assembly are shot and it's allowing the clevis assembly to ride against the wall of the bore where it's located. I'm tempted to buy an entire clutch assembly from a junkyard and machine all new components from aluminum/ brass/ stainless/ whatever.

My throwout bearing went, they fixed it around 35k and no problems with it since and now I have 81k on it. I did have the hydraulic line in the tranny blow which left me stranded and they tried to say that wasn't under the drive train warranty. I said, " does the truck drive without that line functioning?"..." No"........"then it's part of the drive train, fix it." They hemmed amd hawd but they fixed it. Other than that, my truck has been fine.....

I had a 96 Tacoma that squeaked and I replaced the bushing 2x in 5 years.

Yeah...and Toyota hasn't figured it out yet.

Mine squeaks but does not bug me much. With the radio or cd on it is hard to hear anyway. But, now that I read all about this once again it will probably bug me and I will try to quiet it down. If not, more music.

I just took my truck in for the squeak, They said mine was internal transmission failure and had to give me a new one ( Warranty) mine is a 2010 4x4 with 48k miles... so if it squeaks and is under warranty on TAKE it in. Just incase they have a tab any way so shy not get them to fix it. Just my. 02.
