Drove my buddies 2016 6 speed. First time I drove a 3rd gen manual.

IT. ISNT. EVEN. THE. SAME. TRUCK. AS. THE. AUTOMATIC.

It's like night and day difference between the automatic and manual.

I wanted to buy a manual from the start but was told I wasn't allowed to by my better half. She was wrong. Simple. I should've just brought home a manual. Lol

Ummmmm... you are supposed to say "Great Scott!"

Also, your DeLorean is a manual transmission , so you should be happy.

I agree. Drove my buddy’s AT and it was lacking....excitement.

Although, the crawl control, multi-terrain select, and all that extra jazz on the AT is pretty neat.

Glad you like it. It does offer advantages. I've rowed my own on a '97 C1500 Chevy behind a 350. It came in handy. Except in traffic. The constant clutching became...mind-numbing. I guess everyone should have one at least once. It's one of the rites of passage. Go ahead and get one and get it out of your system.

The clutch is quite light on these trucks, I personally don't mind the rowing at all. It'll never be out of my system lol :)

Yup. I wanted a manual but didn’t want to wait 6 months to get one. I bought an auto because I figured it couldn’t be worse than my 2005 auto. I was wrong…

I’ve since resolved that issue and now have the truck I wanted from the start

They are completely different trucks. I was blown away how much differently the manual drives

I would have suggested negotiating with said wife. One 6MT truck for a promise of something nice of her own in the near future.

Is there a "born again" MT thread of folks learned the hard way and took the tough road towards getting into a manual? That would be a great tread with a poll just to see some numbers.

You. Should. Have. Bought. A. Manual. In. The. First. Place. LOL!

There is a reason the people with manuals defend our trucks to the death! We know how badass our trucks are! Most of us have taken the time to drive both manual and auto and we chose manual for a reason. The price difference alone is worth it!!!

I agree. Until you have pins in your left ankle or need a left knee or hip replacement. None of which are exclusive to old age.

I don't have those issues (yet) but a manual would lose luster when it hurt to drive. Especially if you 'have' to drive regularly in heavy congestion.
