The wife told me “don’t buy a stupid manual”.
So I bought a manual. The truck willl be 2 years old in March. She’s never even sat in the driver’s seat.
    WIN! :bananadance:

You get A-TRAC System in place of crawl control on the Manual

True. But I want an Off Road and want to add a Harrop front e-locker, so the A-Trac is a wash.

If you want a long bed manual you have to get the Sport

Would Crawl Control be a wash just the same too?

    Looking at a DCSB.

Possibly. The Crawl Control feature has advantages on descents too. It will brake individual wheels to combat the rear end from coming around. Lockers wouldn't remedy that situation. Neither would 1st gear.

Like I said, I'm still considering both. I currently drive a 1st gen manual trans and like it. But the 3rd gen automatic just seems to have more "tools in the box" for various off road situations.

During the summer we have more cars on the island than particles of sand and the constant traffic would suck plus the ole :ballchain:.
I grew up driving manuals, Isuzu Troopers mostly, and wranglers. I miss it. Gotta get into the dealership and rive one of the MT's apparently

I do as well, open truck door, pull shifter to N then press button start truck, grab snow brush.

Crawl Control doing work on the descent. Yes, you can always "put it in 1st" and let the engine do the braking. But the Crawl Control is braking individual wheels via the ABS system to keep the vehicle under control.

More capable for an incapable driver maybe..... put someone in a manual with factory issued driver mod and I bet the manual will outdo the auto with all the bells and whistles.....
