Mine is solid. I'm guessing the dealer forgot to install something behind the firewall that keeps the pedal assembly from pushing in like that.

    GUYS!!! Yet another update!!!!

The dealer left the largest bolt on this assemnly loose. The one that joins both bracket halves in the middle, and it also acts as the hinge support for the pedal.

Its supposed to go to 25 ft lbs, The tightest bolt of the whole assembly. Both bracket halves were rotating relative to one another.
Its crucial as it acts as the joining fastener for both bracket halves and is what guves it rigidity. Its really hidden up there

The flexing is 100% fixed. I was even able to fit the torque wrench back there somehow

I am very dissapointed of my dealer. This could have failed or damaged the firewall over time. The studs on the firewall were flexing a ton.

The took an extra day to give it to their master mechanic. Maybe toyota should hire me.....

    Thanks for the help guys!!

This is why I will never let anyone else work on my vehicle, the only exception is things that I don't have equipment for like welding.

Ok, I just want to save people of some grief here.

My clutch pedal started making a scratching noise toward the bottom of its travel. I just had enough and pulled it apart.

The 2 nylon plastic bushing were toast from all the sideways movement when the assembly was loose. They are done.

Also, the bolt securing the pedal was put in backwards. Probabaly not a big deal but it even hints in green on the manual the direction that the bolt should face. This makes the nut with washer side accesible for tightening when installed in the vehicle. (Correct side to tighten.
Also, As an airplane mechanic, IDA. (Threads should face Inboard, Downward, Aft) It is a good rule to follow when practical.

Think twice before getting certain TSB's done. If you care about your vehicle or have a good understanding of working on it, it will just cost you time and frustration.
