Manual Transmission availability???

Is Toyota getting rid of the MT option on the Tacoma? I was on the toyota site and didn’t see the manual option in the TRD sport/off-road?

 

MT still available, just not in all configurations (at least in Canada, and we tend to get less selection here)

 

I almost had a heart attack for a sec there.
Well 2020s do come in MT. US gets AC sport and DC OR in MT. Also some SR models i believe.

Edit: forgot about the 2020 pro.

Not sure about the 2021 though...

 

Sport, Off Road, and Pro all have MT options,

 

Put a different zip from a dealer far away and you will get different options available. The configurator only shows what is in your area or what is scheduled to be delivered to your area.

 

Must select short bed...

 

seems that site changes its options based on something. I'd say availability but it's not always clear.

 

Thanks for the replies all. I find that strange that it only goes based on inventory or scheduled deliveries. I figured it would just allow you to configure it however you want and then worry about finding it or ordering it later. I'm currently toying with the idea of trading in my truck for a tacoma with a manual transmission

MT and LB available in sport only, I believe.

 

Search cars.com, or you can order truck,sport access cab also in mt,Canada gets offroad access cab only

 

No DCLB with the MT in the US. If there was I would own one.

I think Canada got them in the OR trim though. Even more of a unicorn than the MT itself.

I'm planning to wait another year or two to make the move. I've only had my truck for almost a year now. I just see my options for owning a manual transmission vehicle are dwindling.

 

Unfortunately, manuals are on their way out across the board. Corvette doesn't even offer a manual in 2020.
According to a recent US News & World Report article, only 18% of american drivers can operate a manual transmission.
The writing is on the wall, better get used to it.

 

I know its a shame. Unfortunately I'm part of the 82% that doesn't know how to drive a manual. All of my family's cars have been automatic so I haven't been able to learn. I thought about trading my Forester in for another Subaru that has a manual but that hasn't panned out and I'll let my mom or sisters borrow the forester if their cars are getting work done so it makes more sense to keep that an automatic.

 

driving a manual car is something that you must do.... it is a complete different experience.... It is a more engaging experience... I’m planning to keep my manual taco and teach my son how to drive stick (he is 2 yo now) haha.... we will see how it goes...

 

Canada gets AC OR M/T, DCSB Sport/Pro M/T.

Like you, I would be driving a DCLB MT if they offered it up here.
