I came from a Jeep Wranger with a manual transmission and now I find my Tacoma's clutch pedal to be too low. My left heel bottoms out on the floorboard when I push the clutch pedal in. So, I have to either stretch my foot forward at the ankle or I won't get full pedal travel. My shoe size is only a 9.5M and I don't have this issue on my Miata. Anyone else have this issue?

Every vehicle is different. I test drove manual Tacoma’s and no matter how hard I tried, just couldn’t get behind it.

You will get used to it. Or hate it so much that you sell the truck.

You can adjust the clutch pedal height by screwing out the master cylinder rod end.

I noticed the same. Definitely puts my foot at an awkward angle but I got used to it and it doesn’t bother me now. I have had a YJ, a manual Ranger, and a manual Frontier. They’re all different and I’ve driven many other different setups as well. Tacoma is not my favorite but it works.

I find that I don't need to push the clutch peddle very far and then the clutch engages. The only time I every push the peddle all the way to the floor is to engage 4 Lo. I always start in neutral and use the clutch cancel button.

I used the ball of my foot and calf muscles to push the clutch down, so my heel is not parallel to the pedal meaning I don't have that issue. I DO have that issue if I wear thick boots, where there isn't much much flex in the sole. My clutch bite point is pretty high up, so I don't even need to push the pedal down that far.

Toyota truck clutches have been remarkably similar for me over the generations I've owned or driven from the 3rd gen Tacomas, my old '95 4Runner and the 4th or 5th gen old Toyota pickup I first learned standard with.

You'll get used to it as long as you don't compare it to other vehicles. My technique on the truck is to use a higher leverage point using my thigh when clutching in, rather than bearing down using my knee like I do when driving my STI or wife's Mazda3.

Then again the STI demands way more precision for a smooth shift than anything else I've ever driven, so I would probably tell you my wife's car is the simplest to row...

This. Or you can change the pedals.. you can get aftermarket pedals at any auto store near you. I mean they have long pedal. Something like that.

I have size 11.5 shoes and I don’t have this problem except occasionally when I misplace my foot on the pedal. I think you will adjust and be fine.

I owned a Subaru in the past and the carpet floor liner would sometimes slide forward and get in the way the of the clutch pedal. It was slightly annoying.
