Yup. Sadly my honeymoon with the WRX ended at 3 weeks.

I have not driven the 16 TRD M/T. Due to no availability. I will have to order it without driving. I have two dealers offering me the truck by end of June.

What made you sell the WRX after 1 month of ownership?

Here's my experience test-driving a 2016... As expected, it felt like my track bike. On smooth roads, it was fine. I felt the sport-tuned suspension when going on bumps. I was able to carry out a conversation with the salesman that rode with me. The transmission/torque/rev-hang was mostly noticeable going from 1st to 2nd.

I just want to know what it was like driving the WRX for a month.

Should go for the STI. It's a shame they don't make the hatchback version anymore. Badass all around car especially if it snows where you live.

To answer your first question, why I sold it, you need to read through this thread first:
    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/dumb-to-trade-in.435205/page-3#post-12585992

I track a 748 and a 1199 along with my Exige, full time. So take it for what it is worth. My Limited had the OEM SST option. Without it, it is horrendous. The inverted shocks, etc, as you well know. It has great torque. Noise wan't too bad. I do lots of phone calls, and at 80mph no issues with bluetooth.
Info tainment is horrible, lots of things get frozen etc. Not a big deal.

Interior quality is low. This was my 9th Subaru and best built, but leaves lot to be desired. Then again I paid sub 30K for a Limited WRX, so interior I know isn't the best. I knew that going in.

One of the BIGGEST complaints (I had a Mazdaspeed3 before, and another Sti before), is that on the highway undulations (405) and even around town, there is a lot of "thump thump" that back seat passengers have to endure. It was bad enough that quite a few people who ride regularly in my car complained. I wish the shock rebounding was much better.

Other than that, it was a bit too slow. I want more power, and it wasn't cutting it, so it had to go.

    Not enough power
    Poor shock rebounding
    Low quality

Main reasons to let it go, in addition to my auto ADD.

    Yup I am a wagon/hatchback lover.

However, I wouldn't buy a STi with the EJ motor for free. Been there, done that. Have lots of warranty claims to write home about. Never again.

I think the new Impreza will bring back the hatch for the wrx/Sti...guessing with fingers crossed. As for the EJ yeah that thing will knock, drink/burn oil oh and leak oil out the head gasket. It's a Subaru but you know these things when you buy one.

EJ life:( Had a 2011 WRX EJ257, knocked when going full throttle in 2nd or 3rd if RPMs were below 3k. Sold it. Wife has a 2007 impreza, EJ25, head gaskets leaking at 55K miles.

The NA motors are good, if you can live with changing head gaskets every 80-100K. Guess we got unlucky with my wife's car.

I agree every Subaru engine fb,fa, ej. I do like the idea of everything and the awd.. It's great don't get me wrong, but that maintence is crazy and don't get me started on alignment ...

Too the head gaskets are like "in a way" are like a timing belt it's just one of those things.

Side note getting U joints checked and changing oil also mentioned the diff whine at 55-60 just in case. Still a great truck and no transmission problems sticking or anything.

i had a 2006 evo ix mr 6 speed. that car was fun to drive but totally not practical. i mean really how often do you get to drive 160mph? never if you obey the speed limits. (yes i got it up to 155 on the interstate) i thought the doors were gonna fly off.

the only thing i hated about that car was the turning radius. it was awful. i think the tacoma has a tighter turning radius than that evo did.

Hey everybody. Brand new poster here... waiting on a truck to show up from the factory. Trying to get a DCOR 6 speed but the dealership said they ordered it on May 11th and they haven't gotten any updates yet. My question is how long did you folks have to wait for your trucks and/or the information sheet? I don't mind waiting I just wish I knew how long it would be...

11 weeks for delivery. I would be lying if I said it was no big deal. It sucked. But I really like the truck. DCORMT. Quicksand. My wife calls it the Iraqi Army truck.
