5300 miles, heard the clutch start creaking today. Funny, seems as I read about the issues they start popping up. Only happened when I was going reverse to 1st to reverse to 1st though. But it sounds like it is slowly starting to happen.

Will see what I can do about lubing it up

Awfully quiet in here... Graveyard shifts are fun but not as fun as shifting my Tacoma!

I could not hack graveyard work.... No flipping way. I work alot of odd hours (i.e. starting as early as 3 or 4 AM doing wildlife surveys), but working all night would kill me. We have a ton of Gold Mines in my part of the world and those poor bastards work 12 hour shifts, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year....I always felt bad for the guys working the night shifts.

Hell I love it. 4nights on, 3days off, 3days on, 1 off 3nights on, 3days off, 4days on 7 days off. 14 days a month on 14 off. The 4 day day shift run is the worst part of it Monday - Thursday... To many chiefs during the week.

Best part is I can take 4 days of vacation and have 14 days off, or take 8 days vacation and get 21 days off.

Yeah the miners here are the same way. Long hard hours, but plenty of time off and great pay. I'm a contractor for the mines (environmental consultant) and it seems like I work six days a week and never find the time to burn the vacation I earn. Oh well...

Back on topic. I love the feel of the TRD shifter but I worry that I'll be putting the stock shifter back on come winter. We dipped down around 38 degrees two nights ago and with the metal shaft exposed it was cold on my fingers. Can't imagine it at -15 below.

Wrap it in 550 cord, Katana pattern. Used to have my 85 that way when I was working in Canada.

Awesome idea. I have been a paracord nerd for a lot of years. I bet I even have a few hundred feet of Quicksand laying around.

I was starting to think the 2.7L 5MT was going to be the way to go, but a local dealer got in a 7559 (AC Sport 6MT) so I went in to have a look. Gave her a good long test drive on some windy roads and various freeway conditions including a pretty steep climb in 5th. All I can say is wow. The combination of the stiffer Sport suspension and the V6/6MT is so much fun. That engine really roars if you want it to, and the truck just takes off. I found cornering and shifting between 2nd/3rd super enjoyable on the windy roads. And yet, still super quiet and comfortable in the cabin on the freeway. In particular it was so refreshing to not roll so deep into every turn, as I'm accustomed. I attribute that to the suspension and overall size/quality of the 3rd gen. What a fun ride!

Hey guys, just wanted to ask a quick question as I will be taking order of a 2016 TRDOR 4x4 MT on 8/11. Anything I should have the dealer check from the factory before I take delivery?
