Manual is fun, that simple. It just sucks in traffic.

So has anyone heard of any news on a TRD short throw shift kit? I have one on my 2005 and love it. I'm still playing the waiting game but after test driving a few 2016 manuals, I would prefer the reduced throw.

I noticed also that the 2016 shifter seems to be taller than the 2015. Maybe it's proportions of the center console or the dash...

How does it work in actually shortening the throw?

The pivot point on the short throw shifter is decreased making the shifts shorter....and the the arm is a little shorter too I believe......do it trust me, it makes driving your truck even better.

Just discovered this thread. Manual FTW. I've owned 8 cars, 1 was automatic. I hated it :bored:

Do you have to drop the transmission or is it all bolted on from inside the cab?

No no simple bolt in. Trust me.....if I can do it, so can you.

You pop off your console, unscrew 4 bolts, take off the spacer and old arm, clean off the old gasket material, squeeze on the new gasket from the bottle, put on the new spacer and arm, screw the 4 volts back in and pop your console back on.....done, 25 min

If you google "urd short throw shifter" ......or something of the sort, I'm positive there is a write up on it somewhere. I think I saw one from xr underground.

    Mostly stuff I built.
Y'all remember that we don't have the RA60 in the 16 models. I don't know if the parts are compatible with the RC62 that Toyota/Asin is building for the 2016.

I did it myself, it was a very easy install. I'm not a mechanic but I am mechanically inclined and can turn a wrench. I'll admit I was a little nervous but it went very smooth .....because it really is a very easy simple install. This place has it on sale.....probably the best price you'll find.
