I've done this once in my old dune buggy. I was down in a gully, throw out bearing went out, only way I got home. Luckily the thing started after having to kill the engine to engage the tranny and give it some gas when the engine started. Also lucky, a mile from home.

Thats why I ran a 6 volt starter in my VW buggies 12 volt system. 12 volts really turned her over and moved em along nicely. Get a good year out of a starter before having to put another early 60's 6 Volt starter in.

so I went looking for a new tacoma off road model in MT. They advertise that they make them in the 4 dr SB model, but every time I pick the option the picture turns to a sport model. Anybody have any idea why? I know the sport model comes in MT for the 4dr sb and 2 dr access cab. Why not offer it on the OR?

Isn't the Sport the only one with a MT in the TRD's?

They do. the dumb Toyota Web site only allows you to build what is built already for your general region. just keep looking you will find one.

Just received mine a couple weeks ago. 17 DCSB OR m/t in quicksand. The only option I had was the tow package. I even had them keep the floor matts and take $200 off the top. Took just over two months to recieve, but got it!

OK, thanks. I'm stuck between the 4 runner and then tacoma. The problems the tacomas have been having put me off, but I feel i'm really gonna miss the bed.

My 17 DCSB OR has been flawless except for needing the control arm plugs to be installed under a tsb.

I'm getting 23 MPG, shifts are solid, truck does everything I expected.

I test drove others and wasnt sure so I ordered and waited for this one.

Take a long test drive, read up on and check the truck for common problems found, and then buy and enjoy.

Has anyone found molded floor mats for the new trucks that fit a manual?

Bride to be just bought this 16 trail premium and we both love it too.

Just installed my husky matts for the m/t and when I ordered it direct from the website it asked for manual or auto. The drivers matt has a nice bump spot for the clutch pedal to clear. Really nice.

    No comparison

If I would have one car, even though I hate gimpomatic, I would buy the Japan made bulletproof 4Runner Pro

I absolutely love my taco. But I will admit the 4runner has a better overall fit and finish. I just don't want an suv and I have to have a manual. Both vehicles are fantastic.

I have lx570 for my SUV needs

But if I had to have one car (thank god I don't) and it was choice between taco and 4Runner, I buy the 4Runner all day long

4Runner quality and built standard is worlds above taco

960k as an oversized load escort vehicle, 270k as a daily driver and about 7k of being a dedicated rock crawler/farm truck. Still gettin' it!

I own both a 2016 Tacoma 6mt OR and a 2016 TRD Pro 4runner and of the two the Tacoma is my pick. Tacoma rides/drives better, less road noise, better fuel mileage and the seats are more comfortable. The fit and finish is equal on the two as far as I am concerned. Wish the Tacoma had the manual transfer case like the 4runnner (fawk that stupid knob). Tacoma tows better and has more power having towed the same load with both. Just my two cents.
