Change your driving style. Even small changes (slower acceleration, lower RPM shift points, lower RPM cruising speeds) will make a big difference. I have a 2.7L but you can see all my data from the past 40k miles in my fuelly link below if you wish. The easier I drive, the higher my fuel efficiency.

I'm curious, do the MT Tacos have a gear indicator icon on the dash anywhere?

Is that a thing? I don't understand why that would be necessary lol

Rats, ah well. I like them for quick confirmation of the gear I'm in.

There is a thread about it. My WRX 16 has it. Fantastic. Tacoma doesn't.

I'm sure resurfacing is cheaper it's not a hard job.

Really? That would be a problem for me as I like putting toppers on my trucks. I was hoping it would be increased so it would have better handling characteristics with the cap on it.

Oddly, I've I used the eco app on my off road to get an idea for where the trucks sweet spot is and was surprised "eco" revs are a bit higher than I thought.

Up here at 5700 ft (and much higher sometimes) I find my best efficiency in lower gears a lot. I cruise at 2100 rpm up and down low hills and the truck posts great numbers. Going to a higher gear brings revs low enough a lot more throttle is needed and the truck bogs.

Higher altitude is a double edged sword. Less resistance since the air is thinner. Should be able to get better mpg than someone near sea level.

The picture is of a decal on the driver side door jam. Payload decreased for sure. Must be due to the characteristics of the Fox shocks or changes to the leaf springs.

is that a wrap, which one did you use? 3M? i am considering the same for mine, which is still on order after 11 weeks! i've been considering a similar (possibly the same) 3M wrap in semi matte green like that. if it's a wrap, mind i ask how much you paid and where you did the work?

Sorry for the late reply, it is 3m...color is called pine green matt mettalic... payed 3k, diamond auto in sacramento did the work. Definitely worth it to save the paint underneath. It was a ssm originally. Green has down to earth feel to it.
