If Toyota sells it, you can buy it. Simple as that. I agree with nevadabugle about the dealerships B.S.ing you so you'll buy what they already have on the lot. I had to wait a month and a half to get my long bed. The dealership told me it would be really difficult and tried really hard to get me to buy one of the short beds they already had. I told them i'd just order through another dealership and they shaped up real quick.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Yes this. There are very few of us that insist on manual, i am sure many more would prefer one but its not a deal breaker for them.

I will not buy another automatic Tacoma, I hated my 2012. Tried it once and didn't like it lol.

My dealership says they hate selling them because they can't resell them when they come back. No one drives them. I found that odd as a different salesman said he doesn't understand why you couldn't order one, people who want a 6sp won't back out of the deal. I personally think it's because with cars being able to talk to one another in the future, they would have to be automatics, otherwise it limits the cars ability to control itself, so they are phasing them out. I could be way off though.

If a salesmen or dealership is giving you shit about manuals being available tell them fine I'll go somewhere else. As you're walking out the door if they want to sell you a car they'll make it happen and pull you back in.

Or you can say screw that bs and call a dealership's internet sales division on the phone. Tell them what you're looking for and what options. Ask them for a price and then see if they can do better or if it beats truecar. If it does then go through them. Most internet sales people are salary and not commission and want to move more units/volume and care less about price, as long as they're making some money then it doesn't matter if it's 1,000 or 5,000. Also dealerships that move large volumes get lucrative kickbacks from the manufacturers.

The old-school car salesmen is interested in fucking you over price wise since you represent a large investment in time and his paycheck. The internet sales guy is just interested in finishing the negotiation quickly so he can move more units which is usually how his performance is measured since he doesn't get a cut of the sales price.

i believe there is more to the story and we won't find out not being in the boardroom. think about the fading MT thing that's becoming more of a cult than anything stateside, then think about what yota must deal with:
-EPA requirements and mpg requirements for the current lineup
    -additional logistics and manufacturing
-additional design & testing, & possibly liability stuff in the states
-all that adds up to additional costs, and
-AT's bring more dollars and probably more margin, too.

basically all manufacturers are moving away from MT's, and on the surface it looks to be sales driven, and that's a big part. but removing them from a lineup can simplify so much for the company that it's a big push to hone efficiency in total manufacturing. but the companies are a little stuck themselves since there are clowns like us who want that option first and won't do the deal without it. but the future is likely theirs, which is why I'm locking down my MT while i can.

the first MT Taco Pro manufactured and allocated to the Gulf region has been delivered to my dealer tonight. picking it up tomorrow. first in line this time. I'll come back with pics.

All I drive are manuals, but I disagree with this.

When I redo my rock buggy it's getting a built auto.
