Me too. All those creaking noises! Found out it was ME. I'm 67 and I now make those noises. Thought it was the truck.

    Stock.

Haha nope, not even close. Anchorage Alaska. There's only one Toyota dealership in Anchorage but they push out so many vehicles it seems like they can get pretty much anything.

Good to hear! I haven't had the sticking problem in mine yet. Hoping it stays that way...

Lucky guy. It would be a tad too long to drive from northwestern Connecticut to anchorage Alaska to find a manual but if it came to it I'd fly out and drive my new manual home. What a drive! I'd be sure to tour BC and seskatchewan along the way if they had roads. Maybe next time. My dealer found mine in Connecticut with 14 miles on it and traded for it then drove mine 96 miles back to my dealership. It was black with manual and already had wheel locks. Black running boards and weathertech mats. And towing package with upgraded etune audio. Everything I wanted but no more in the color I chose. Dannyblues

If the battery is totally dead the alternator will never generate power no matter how fast you push it.

I'm sure if you didn't have the stuck in gear issue from the start you never will. It occurs after an hour of highway driving usually when you've been in one gear for at least 15 minutes, usually fifth or sixth. Man it's frozen. Takes a good yank to get it out. I had the shop drain and inspect my transmission fluid for particles left behind from damage resulting from this issue. Fluid was immaculate. Not even the expected break in shavings. Replaced it with fresh fluid I was told but my gut tells me they just refilled with my filtered original fluid. I'll change all fluids when I get a chance this summer. Maybe next as my mileage is now just 12,000 after nine months and I'll be using my 87 Chevy Nova mostly once the weather warms up. Dannyblues

Yeeeeaahhhhhh could probably better off rolling it to around 30-40 and popping it in 2nd or 3rd. A) I doubt the tranny would let you even get it into 1st at that speed (if you aren't already) and b) your engine/transmission would gredane lol. Please don't do that :D. The idea is sound though, I'm sure at 50+ if you drop clutch in 4th or so and let it wind out it might rotate enough to get a charge on the battery

Doing my fluid now again, Had a shop do my clutch about 15k miles ago. I had MT90 in there and asked that they put it back in, he said he didn't reuse the old stuff even though it should have been fine with like 500 miles on it, but he said they went to the auto parts place nearby and got some. We'll find out if that's true or not, but I've got a bunch of new MT90 to put in today. Will also be able to find out if all my hammering on the clutch has created any extra particulate or anything.

As long as your battery craps out at the top of a mountain! Poor guys in Kansas or Texas would have to push it to Montana! Dannyblues

Did you mean hydraulic clutch fluid or transmission fluid. I doubt the clutch fluid that's like brake fluid gets affected by much. It's just a smooth slave unit that replaced the old dry clutch units of old and eliminates all the noise and chatter feel. Dannyblues

Nope. No gear grinding. Only some chatter and resistance when downshifting into first coming up on a stop at a slow roll. I found double clutching eliminates this but now I come to a complete stop when going down to first.

Sometimes I cheat. I leave it in second and drop to a very low speed maybe even 2-4 mph. Often as I'm still rolling but soooo slow i put in the clutch in second at that speed before the engine Boggs down and out then release it slowly and roll away no problem. It's called a rolling stop. It's technically illegal but done right it looks like you came to a near stop. Avoids the downshift into first and the chatter that comes with it when downshifting into first at low speed. My Tacoma likes a complete stop unless as I said I double clutch down into it

By do your clutch do you mean replace it???? Wow. How many miles on the Tacoma when that happened. You have that modified super Tacoma with supercharged engine plus right? Is that when you had the stage three clutch installed? How does a stage three feel ? Years ( and years ) ago I knew someone who had a racing clutch installed in a 67 cougar. Parallel parking was a nightmare as that clutch was like full on or full off plus he had the engine modified and replaced with some hot large cubic inch motor. It really wasn't a street car in NYC. according to @nevadabugle, yes, it's not possible to push start. i haven't looked for that in the manual myself, but he tried a push start and it didn't bite.

Second post. How much do you think it costs to replace a stock clutch with pressure plate, throw out bearing etc for a complete clutch job on a 2016 stock Tacoma? What did you pay for the stage three clutch plus installation?
