Hi all! I just traded my '13 2.7 AC AT in 2 weeks ago for a '15 DCSB M/T and loving it so far. I was raised on manuals but have been in At's for uite a while hell even the dump trucks where I work are AT's. I'm not quite as smoth through the gears as I used to be but it's coming back.

    old truck

    new truck

The delayed throttle response on this truck sometimes causes me to engage the clutch too early before the engine revs high enough to move the truck easilyon a hill. Low RPMs would normally make the engine growl, but on a hill the engine slows down enough that the exhaust note sounds like crackles.

Picked my 17 TRD Sport Manual on Friday. Coming from an 11 WRX, so very different, but I'm liking the new ride just fine. Took 9 weeks to come in, but I got it exactly like I wanted. Already changed the grill.

Not a fan of the PRO grill but that looks better on Silver Sky than any other color IMO.

Another WRX Subi guy eh? There's a bunch of ya here...must admit I have never even sat in one.

One day I'll ask one of ya to splain the mutual attraction of the WRX and the Taco.

Welcome to the ride, you'll enjoy it

I stripped the other truck and returned it basically to stock except for the lift and a couple of odds and ends so I have all that to go on this one like already installed the bumper and the lights and had the dealer switch over my wheels and tires to this one. Why buy it again if you already have it. Saving for the lift now and prepping the sliders to go on this one and I'll wait until after the lift to install all the skids

I haven't heard much on that one, but I hear the URD one is great. I think @la0d0g is running it and loves it.

Correct. One of the first mods I did and would still do to an MT. You get used to the change in reverse quickly and as a bonus its like an antitheft device. People can't put it into reverse without knowing to "slap" it in there. Last time I got my truck smog'd I had to pull it out of the bay since to guy couldn't get it in reverse even with me standing there telling him how to get it in there :)

Are the trd short throw and the URD basically the same? It's a fairly basic thing I would think

I haven't played with the TRD SS so I can't say with certainty but in concept they're the same thing.

It really makes shifting the manual more pleasant when going forward.

Once you know how to do it it's a non issue, muscle memory takes over after a day or three.

Easy choice. Like Randy said, don't like it, swap it out. The device itself will have no negative effects on your truck.
