I've been told that my emotional range is similar to Mr. Spock, haha.

That was actually a rough calculation, the 284.2. I had my file set to inches and multiplied the ouncemass by 28 to get the grams (actual conversion factor has decimal values).

Here is a more accurate number, assuming the part dimensions all hit nominal of the tolerances. I weighed two of them, one was in the 280 range ... the other 290 even.

Yep. @7r41lbr34k3r 's knobs are really nice. I was bored and wanted to see if our printers could do larger threads nicely. Hint: they can, but I need to make them a larger diameter than standard to get a good fit.

I can't print the knob and the boot retainer at the same time, so I'm living with the grommet trick.

What did you use? It looks like pipe foam insulation and electrical tape?

Now that the chrome ring is exposed on mine with the grommet, I'm feeling the insane urge to sand and paint it. Hahahafuckchromehahaha!

Well, I'm having a hard time keeping my foot out of my mouth this week!

I missed the part where you are the designer/craftsman behind these beauties lol.

I'm having a lot of trouble getting a shifter from another *cough* vendor, so I'll probably hit you up if you're still doing it.

Yeah, I read about that in the other thread and checked the Facebook reviews. Can't believe that guy has been allowed to get away with this for so long.

Oh! The pic doesn't do it justice.

    I have these saved:
    https://www.redlinegoods.com/Tacoma16shiftboot.php

I wouldn't mind all three, in basic black of course, just to get some real leather in there esp the console cover.

I hear ya. I'm thinking the leather parts might go on the Christmas list for my Fam to grab?

I am content with spendy stuff for the Taco for now. Just saving for a GFC in a year or so.

I want to install the URD shifter since that's the absolutely only option out there for some god knows why reason. However, it raises the knob about an inch and I don't want that.

Has anyone cut and tapped the stock handle to lower the knob some? I know the stock handle flares a bit below the threads so I'm not sure how much lower the knob can be brought down.

I was hot for the URD shifter, but there has been installation issues and a quality problems reported lately. I don't want to mess with that.

In the end, a shorter upper arm would be all that is needed. Tapping the larger diameter would also need a different knob. 18mm or 19mm is a pretty big die.

Is is shorter? The 2nd Gens that I test drove felt about the same as the 3rd Gens. I didn't measure though the 2nd gens. In neutral, from the top of trim to the top of the stock knob is 9.75in, if I remember right?
