All the TRD OR Access Cabs are auto. You have to get the Sport to get a manual in an AC.

You're gonna have to go over the border and visit our maple-syrup scented brothers for a TRD OR Access Cab with a stick, they don't sell them in the US unfortunately.

The main reason I bought a Tacoma was because of the manual transmission

I searched for 3 months and drove 300 miles one way to buy my pro with a manual. Well worth it.

The reason I am getting my 3rd gen is the manual transmission for sure. I actually wasn't even considering another Tacoma until I saw the double cabs OR option . I would feel foolish driving around in a midsize without the ability to shift my own gears.

As far as the death of manuals, its really a sad thing. For me its Tacoma's for the reliability/stick and BMW's for the RWD/stick. I can always be assured that the Tacoma will be up and running when the M3 needs maintenance yet again.

Maybe not Porsche-level high-end, but my '17 GT350 is a manual. That's all you can get. No automatic available. Ford also did that with the Focus RS. I guess they figure if you can't manage three pedals, buy a Chevy!

I am proud to be the last of the breed. A manual Taco and a GT350 with a naturally aspirated 526 HP small block.

Don't get me wrong. I love a V8 Mustang, but even the Shelby 350 isn't what I meant as far as high end. Think high end brands not models. You can't even buy a Ferrari or Lambo in a standard anymore.

Those that buy a Lambo or Ferrari most likely aren't doing it for the driving experience from the gearbox per se. These high end cars are untouchable to the average guy. The ones that do buy them are stupid rich and likely don't know how to drive a stick, or they would prefer the bragging rights that come with the AWD - DCT/SMG style transmission that make the car 1/10th of a second faster then its manual couterpart.

Some of these performance oriented auto transmissions are actually quite fun to drive. They are nothing compared to the new normalcy of a CVT in your average sedan.

Did they go away with the TRD OR access Cab with a stick recently?? I have that configuration in my 09 and love it. When it comes time to replace I was planning on going with the same set up just a newer model. granted that could be another 10 years down the line, once Wisconsin salt rusts everything out.

AFAIK, that config has never been available in 'murica (3rd Gen).

    Get one from Canada!

The 3rd gen Tacoma did away with that configuration in the US. So 2015 was the last year

Believe the TRD sport AC 4x4 is the only AC manual available in the US market.

My 2000, 2008, and 2015 were all that combo, kinda sucks that they did away with it on the 3rd Gen.

I got one for my third gen here https://www.redlinegoods.com I'm happy with the boot, but it is from Poland and shipping took close to 2 weeks. It also needed an adult signature, so I had to go to the post office or take a day off work.

I found a S/C’ed manual OR DCSB but it is just out of my price range. Damn!
