There's nothing strange about that. We hit up an ethanol free place about a month ago with my bike. I noticed a difference just pulling out of the place. Like you said, it was smoother, had a bit more pick up, the exhaust note was a bit deeper, and I got an extra MPG or so on that tank. Also, cold starts were easier.

Ethanol free will always give you better fuel mileage (in any car) because it has a higher energy density.

A turbo motor designed and tuned for E85 would be interesting, but that is a whole different animal.

Anyone know the sweetspot for best mpg in 6th? Recently did a long drive and I was pegged at 20.2-20.4 mpg with slightly overinflated tires and cruising 70-75.

I find I get the best MPGs going around 65. I can get 30+ MPG on flat ground going 55 but then you're a granny driver getting passed by anyone and everyone. :anonymous:

I do 65-66mph with stock tires and no lift. get the 20-21mpg or better if on really long highway trips with not too many hills. I've gotten up to 27MPG doing 65mph and smart use of engine braking and coasting.

Found this gem 2.5 Gen. 2013 2.7 5MT Access Cab 4x4 in Pyrite Mica for $19k. 101k Miles. really like this color more than the brown sugar on the corolla. I work for UPS so that adds to the appeal.

So I’ve had my truck on “order” for a couple weeks now, and the dealer finally got a manual I can test drive. Seems all the reviews have it spot on, great gearbox, very positive engagement, absolutely no clutch feel. I mean I know hydraulic clutches don’t feel like good old cable clutches, but man. My wife’s car (2018 Forester) at least has some feel to it. I’m pretty sure it has no accumulator, now I see why people are doing the accumulator delete, maybe I’ll try that. Also, the shifter is too far away, anyone try a different one, maybe either longer or angled?

I've no complaints with the shifter length. You could try adjusting your seating position to help you reach the shifter more easily.

I’d rather be seated comfortably first, a quick google search showed I’m not alone, lots of options out there

I understand. But these trucks are one size fits all. Have you found any remedies to your shifter concern?

IMG_2520.jpg IMG_2523.jpg havent posted since i bought the truck so thought id add some pics after a wash and wax today. seen some interesting shifter boot mods with rubber grommets and such but i thought some would like to see my interpretation. the trd pro shift knob came included on my sport so lucked out there. just cut off the white plastic tabs on the bottom of the knob and zip tied the inside of the boot to the shifter. next mods will be the black grill surround and tint. anyone have any luck with the URD short shifters on their 3rd gen?

So in the MT spirit I've been looking at the FJ TC swap info. Does that work for 3rd gens as well? Would be a truly cool mod on a 6MT truck. I'll wait until warranty is done of course.
