i don't have that. but it is tricky to go smooth into first. i have not found double clutching to help with that although i double clutch about half the time going into first myself. i don't like pushing on the synchros and the gear jump 1 to 2 definitely does that w/o doubling.

Yeah that 1-2 shift is spread wide. Hence why I need to go back into 1st on many occasions.

I recently sold my 2018 Automatic and bought a 2019 TRD OFF ROAD Manual. Could not be more happy with it. Doesn't even feel like the same powertrain. The cruise control now works properly, you can set it in second gear if you want to. The automatic was a big disappointment.

I have been running the URD short shifter for almost a year. I picked it on the black friday sale last year. I have had no issues with it. It was easy to install and made the shifting less sloppy and more positive.

I'm sure it's not as smooth. shifter as some the European sport cars but
it's the best I've ever owned

I’ve read you shouldn’t cruise in overdrive gears like 5th and 6th while towing or to accelerate, but what about hauling a motorcycle in the bed? Keeping it in 4th seems almost silly on the highway..

Motorcycle in the bed - no problem. What’s your bike weigh around 400lbs? My 4 banger 1st gen tows this little trailer down the highway in 5th gear at 70mph like it’s barely there.

I think that applies more for automatic transmissions and heat build up in the transmission/converter. If your not lugging the engine, your good.
Just got back from a 4,400 mile round trip with a 300 LB motorcycle in the bed. Zero issues using 5th and 6th.

Took mine in for 10k service and told them about the squeeky clutch pedal. They are going to replace the bushings it sounds like. Is that the normal fix (long term) or will it just start up again? Remember some talk about just lubing it up with a type of grease as a quick fix. As long as it's under warranty I'll have them deal with it for now.

They have just sprayed mine after telling me they can not repeat and I showed them in about 2 seconds. Let us know how the bushing replacement works. I actually told my service advisor they need to replace the dam clutch pedal with something not plastic. He didn't agree.

There's a TSB for that. They put the fix in my 2014 Taco shortly before I traded it, so I don't know how it worked out long term. I believe it's TSB number T-SB-0186-12.

Considering a 2019 TRD OR manual...how bad is the rattle in neutral when coasting over bumps and between shifts?

I live in an area of primarily bumpy gravel roads and have concerns with some of the threads on TW talking about manual transmissions rattling during the above mentioned conditions.

    TIA

I'll try to let you know in the thread. I've heard of greasing it and replacing the master cylinder I think, but not replacing the bushing. We'll see how it goes.

Looked up the TSB and looks like it applies only through 2012 models. Mine is a 2019, so I wonder if they have a new TSB for newer model years. Obviously the "fix" from back then didn't work.

From the problems that get posted here about clutch pedal work at dealers and the TSB'ed one that I felt on a Lemon OR, I would not let a dealer touch it. Just poke your head in that area and think about a cheap tech at a dealer hamfisting it to get it done in an hour or whatever book time is.

    Disc brake grease first.

2nd Gens had a plastic master cylinder. The 3rd Gen was upgraded to metal. The master itself should be a problem for a few hundred thousand KMs.

Drove this guy last night. Every time I drive it I have to check the shift pattern. Not the fastest rig in the world, but still fun to drive.
