Oh ok, I remember looking when I first got my truck last January. Seems like I thought they were too expensive then. I'm seeing them now for ~$94.

Would get one now but I just ordered some wheels. I suppose I can squeeze another few thousand miles out of my OE knob.

Anybody with a MT feel like they're missing out on Crawl Control? I'm looking into a manual OR but didn't realize they don't get crawl control

You get the A-TRAC System in place of CC.

    nope. The MT has ATRAC.

i had an auto and I only used it a handful of times just to mess around. In the MT, 1st gear, 4lo, ATRAC on and let it idle. It’s nearly the same experience.

Nope. I've seen CC in action. It is cool and works, but MT is more important and I worked myself out also.

No. Feel like with crawl control you're just one step away from letting someone else drive for you.

Is ATRAC available on TRD Sport manuals? I am not sure my truck has ATRAC, just TRAC and Auto LSD.

No its only on the OR and Pro, think the sport has the less advanced TRAC system though.

I believe the main thing is that with the electric brake booster, the OR and Pro can brake a spinning wheel with more line pressure than the other models. That said, I have not been caught out and do not get very deep in the throttle when a tire loses grip.

IMHO, the differences from SR through Pro are very small until we start adding things like long travel suspension and crawl boxes.

Here is a good video showing that in the model with just TRAC, we can get traction and forward motion with two wheels in low grip:
There are some other good demos videos in that thread.

The difference with hydraboost makes sense. Mine only has vacuum boost.

I am not concerned about crawl control though. I am happier to have the manual transmission.

I like the looks of the OEM leather Hilux shift knob. Do the Tacoma and Hilux shift knobs have the same thread and pitch ?

Anyone with a MT notice a buzz in the pedal when shifting at higher rpms or at the top of the clutch when releasing at 3rd or 4th gear?

2019 TRD OR DC MT with 1000 miles on it.

Taking it to dealer butbthey can't look at it until 12/3 due to deer season.

You could have both ya know.. just throw a crawl box in there and not only get crawl control but you'd also get 2000 ft/lb of torque.

If you're into that kind of thing :turtleride:

i don’t because I love the manual. I can see it being cool to have Crawl Control at times on rocks but that’s about it. I have tried A-TRAC and it worked pretty good until I got the truck really stuck in moguls. Then I just used the locker, it’s like cheating. I’m curious how A-TRAC works in deep snow myself. Having way more control where I live I love the manual, and traffic jams don’t really bother me. I do love having the radar cruise works fantastic, and if you need to shift just shift and the cruise doesn’t cancel.

A marlin crawler is something that I would be interested in when the payoff mod is complete. Time will tell.

Have done several searches but found only info for the auto. Anyone know the part number/ manufacture of the 3rd gen manual transmission? Am I correct in assuming it's Aisin?
