Are you sure you aren't feeling drivetrain slack..? I was almost losing my mind the other week hearing and feeling what you describe at low speeds rolling in my alley. As I paid attention more closely, I realized it was me who was abruptly moving the clutch at the bottom causing the drivetrain slack to be more audible. Just a thought.

What are the Temps in your area? Did this start when getting cold? This clutch is goofy in cold weather. Anything under 35-40F I have noticed. I don't take my truck to the dealer as I repair and maintain all my vehicles in my shop. Never greasd the clutch assembly either. I live with the creek, groaning, sticky beast!

Mmmmm... Ford goodness. After a bit of reading on how well this fluid works with notchy MTs in cold weather I can't wait to try. DSC_0014.jpg

Yes. I've heard good things about that fluid also. It is said to be better than Redline.

I have a 2001 Taco and the tranny was hard to shift when it was cold. I went with the redline and now it shifts beautifully regardless of temp.

Flying to UT from CA to pick up my new Taco. Only one I could find with Manutal Trans and leather. Should be a fun trip.

Any temp, noticed it since the summer. Not temp dependent but if I cycle the pedal a few times it doesn’t happen for a couple actuations.

That's why I purchased this oil. I've read redline not so great and degrades fast, but everyone is an internet mechanic. Bonus is I had it in 30min delivered to my shop.

I went with the Ford fluid just because I got it local and fast. Not sure if i can find redline locally... Plus never tried redline anything in my vehicles. I've always stuck with valvoline fluids for basic maintenance. If I wanted a better quality, I would go motul. I didnt read to much about Ford fluid, but thought I read it might be made in Germany, possibly motul.

Ford transmission fluid made the notchy BW T-5 seem liveable. It definitely has its merits!

Thank you for the confidence, from the great white north!

Temps in the 20s F tonight. Hoping to get on the lift after work and drop that fluid.

I stick with ATF in my T-5, it's not too bad to shift.

I usually stick with Castrol Dex/Merc, Ford only offers just Merc V the last time I checked. Next change around I may try a synthetic ATF but l dont think its really necessary.

Should have looked closer at the bottles of fluid you had. I used Ford Dextron/Mercon fluid in my Mustangs. Never had any issues with it.

I believe the RC62 in our trucks requires gear oil. I will have to look that up though. I am not certain. Sorry.

I do use Dex/Merc, no issues.
