I'm still on one of the stock Toyota tunes and even that was enough. I can see all the hype for tuning for the 6AT guys.

    Maybe it's me then haha

I forgot about the nose dive - it was definitely worse than my Pro but I guess i was just chalking it up to the weird brake feel. I'd have to compare a 6MT OR to a 6MT Pro to go apples to apples.

That is the funny part. I was pretty much indifferent about the Skewp. The Taco looked alright with it, but IMO, would have been better if it was more like the 2nd Gens, and it seems to look fine without it. I do appreciate the view ahead more now though.

I will say that the whole 4.0l versus 3.5l arguement is wayy overblown. Both are excellent engines with nearly the same feel to me.

Still kicking myself about last August. Hahaha!

That is always the cool part about having choices and options.

From the front of the truck, I get the scoop sexiness.
From the driver's seat, where you can't see anything other than the bulge, I dislike it.

I had a Sport and then traded it in and got an Off-Road. I didn't think I'd miss the scoop that much or at most would be indifferent, but I really do miss the look of it and keep hoping one will pop up around here for me to swap with now! In hindsight, I should have made them swap when I did the trade-in!

I got used to looking over the scoop pretty quickly in my Sport and it was fine. The visibility is better with the flat hood in the Off-Road no doubt, but not a huge enough difference to me. Besides I have the front camera now so if I really need to get the front end as close as possible I can just turn that on.

Completely not related to the current conversation in this thread, but I just wanted to post here and say that the MT fan club is the club I have always been looking for!

I've always driven a manual and forced my wife and 2 of 3 kids to learn to drive on a manual. The third isn't driving yet. And, I love that I have less to worry about when someone's out stealing cars because it has the built in theft prevention system aka clutch.

When I was in Baltimore, I had to drive my vehicle into the maintenance bay at the dealership because they only had 1 person who could drive one. LOL.

    So. Many. Stickers.
Yup. Short guy probs. But now that I've got seat jackers and ome suspension and 33 ridge grapplers..... I kinda want my skewp back

    Haha yup.

As far as the driving experience goes, my 17 OR must be a Unicorn, because the AT in it shifts juuuust fine. The KDMax tune def gets that throttle pedal singing.

The 18 Sport is the beast. Needs gears for sure. Love love love driving it through. The more armor and tires etc added, the higher I wait to shift in the rpm range..... The more fun it is

Didn’t you have a frontier? You bought AT OR? And you swapped the best looking hood in the world?!

Are your ridge graps E rated? I’ve got
33”x10” E rated wildpeaks 52 pounds, RTT and steel bed rack. Drives fine for now but ordered front aluminum stump bumper, winch and picking up sliders pretty soon here. Curious how it will handle the extra weight.

Yeah. I see that also. Likely some high rise cargos or shorts riding too low.

Of course, I have my own strange wheeling attire.

My truck shopping list included: midsized, manual, 4x4 = Tacoma was the only option in 2019.
Dealers were practically giving them away, way under MSRP. I got a pretty nice truck (Offroad) out of the deal too, and added lots of fun mods to make the manual even better. I got the OVTune, regeared to 5.29s with 33s, and it practically drives itself, hauls great (within reason), and is super fast...just not over 80mph. Offroading is not the easiest option with a manual, compared to auto, but I'm not here to have fun the easy way. A-TRAC and front and rear lockers make it plenty easy, and give options. I'm loving it so far and coming from a manual Corolla and Subaru, I didn't realize manuals could be so forgiving and easy to drive on the road, with these super low gear ratios. I'm glad us 4% of sales are proud and happy. I hope the manual stays as an option in the next Tacoma generation.
