I think for 2024 you will have a switch to shut it off.

How did you get a normal handbrake in-between the seats, custom install?

Its not between the seats, but I can operate the parking brake with my right hand. It’s not the left foot pedal unit the V6’s have to deal with.

My 1st and 2nd Gen V6's had the pull lever under the dash.

If I remember correctly every Toyota truck I've owned since 1981 had the T-handle e-brake on the right side of the steering wheel under the dash. That includes both 1st and 2nd gen v6's. My 3rd gen has it on the console right beside the shifter.

0/3 today. Looks like Toyota's do not have a bypass feature.

I believe you're right. The only "bypass" feature I'm aware of is the clutch start cancel on our MT's.

And it’s glorious. Love that when I want to start it up and start cooling down while I put my stuff in.

I guess that could be easily used for a remote start too.

Best I can remember,,, my 1981 didn't have a button. Turn the key without pushing in the clutch and she was a moving. Learned real quick to push in the clutch before turning the key!

Apologies if this question has been asked before - I searched and did not find a similar question: '21 Tacoma, MT, On hot days (85+, freedom units) when I change gears the clutch master cylinder area by my left foot makes a whine noise. No leaks or drips. Thoughts on what this noise is and remedies. To my old ears it sounds like a bushing or a seal. The clutch action is not spongy so it's normal, or normal as defined as no changes from the as delivered state. My wife says just turn up the music.

    thanks in advance

Hmm. But it's not like an electronic whine?

It's like a sigh, not a motor whirl or pump sound. For comparison - When the key is off and I back the truck up a few feet just using the clutch and brake - the brake assist comes on and makes a whirl pump noise. That is a different sound than what I'm hearing.

The whine is actually timed on foot coming up / clutch re-engaging stroke.

I highly enjoy driving a manual, every vehicle I've had besides my first ever was a a stick. Main reason I was drawn to the Tacoma was one of the only modern trucks with the manual trans
