Couldn't heel/toe like in my other vehicles. Bought a cheap pedal set from AutoZone with a wider gas pedal. Simply screwed through the OE gas pedal and problem solved. Passengers that pay attention wonder what the hell I am doing during the downshift. When I explain, most wonder why. If I have to explain, you won't understand. My 15 year old son does get it, so all is well. Whole family is MT capable.

Sorry if this has been asked, does anyone regret getting a manual for off roading? I absolutely love driving a manual, but this is the first time I've ever gone off road, and I find myself sometimes wishing I had an automatic. I did my first real trail last weekend and found myself in situations where even rolling back an inch meant a little ding or scratch. Nothing major, but it still made me wish I had an automatic there. Another person I linked up with said she loves manual, but an auto is a 'game changer' off road. What do you all think?

Did you use the "Clutch Start Cancel" Switch? You can use that to ride the starter out of situations where you really cant afford to roll back any.

    Nope. Not once ever.

Offroading with the MT is excellent. Austin Power U turns are a part of it all.

I did not, no. The first time I was unaware of what it did, because I had only had the truck a few days. Can the starter move the truck uphill pretty well, and does it jerk at all?

I'm glad to hear it! I do love driving a manual, but I was worried I was at a disadvantage. I'll just have to get better! I also think that AT shifter is really ugly...

Learn to use your parking brake to help you get moving without rolling. Pull it up and hold it while keeping the button pressed down, half clutch and some skinny pedal, and then lower the parking brake.

My parking brake is actually a T handle by the ignition, it's kind of strange. I've also seen that once before. I eventually realized to do that, but not before bashing in my tailgate...

Thank you! My clutch does seem to be absurdly heavy, heavier than any vehicle I've driven before

Ouch! I backed into a friends car that he just got back from the body shop. We were joking around and I forgot that he parked in the driveway. It was all good because he T boned me when we were out on a ride. He missed my turn signal. LoL!

The ADM will not lighten the clutch. It will give more control and direct action on the engagement.

There were a few configs on the 2nd Gen. Some, there was enough slack to form the stock lines and toss in a coupler.

Ah didn't realize you had a 2G. Same principle though. I do kinda miss the T-handle parking brake and honestly was disappointed when I went test driving 3rd gens and they didn't have it.

You are supposed to use it in 4 Low so torque multiplication is high, the starter had no trouble moving my truck smoothly but you should experiment with it to see where it could be beneficial to you.

Took me about a year to adjust to the 3rd Gen handbrake, was always punching the dash, lol.

Lolololol. I can imagine getting into the truck with the lady right after you got it and punching the dash and she gives that "wtf are you doing look" that most women do and just say "don't worry about that." Ever since I picked up my LJ a few months ago when switching between that and the Taco I'll end up in either first/sixth/reverse when I'm trying to hit the opposite one. The LJ reverse is in the more "normal" spot to the right and down.
