Looking to possibly trade my 2019 WRX Limited on a Tacoma, one owner no mods. Please update with what you find to be the best deal, I may turn toward private party if I can get a considerable amount more doing that

Carmax (only did it online) didn't offer me anything over KBB value on my WRX, a dealership near me did beat the blue book value though. Problem is, every truck at that dealer lot has a ton of port added options. I am looking at another dealer over an hour away that has Tacomas without the dealer accessories, but am worried they may only give me KBB on my car.

So just put down a deposit after negotiating with the dealer. Carmax offered $13k for my WRX, Carvana $15,800. The dealer started at $13k but negotiated up to $15k which ends up being over $16k with the tax incentive in Ohio. Got almost $3k off msrp on the truck too so I’m happy. I probably could have sold the WRX privately for a few grand more but now I don’t have to spend the time doing that. Hope that helps!

Congrats on the soon to be new truck

Just wanted toss some fresh info on this thread for future ̶v̶i̶c̶t̶i̶m̶s̶ thread readers.

I have a 2024 Tacoma TRD Sport 6MT. I'm the second owner. Purchased it with 11650km / ~7240mi. At around 22250km / ~13825mi what happened to @OP happened to me. Around 3 weeks ago I was pulling out of a parking lot and tried shifting into second and just got gear grinding. Had to go 1st to 3rd. 4th would barely catch. Same with 6th. Was like the bottom row of gears dropped down and inch or something and was barely grabbing, if at all. I could only go into 2nd from a complete stop.

Found this thread and it saved me a load of anxiety knowing it has happened to others.

Took it to Toyota on July 21st.Transmission was on back ordered of course. They got it in yesterday and replaced it this morning. Truck is driving like new now.

Such an odd issue and it's weird to me that they were able to fix it without redesigning the shift extension housing or transmission itself. All the same parts and part numbers. Also strange that they replace the entire transmission for this. I still have a post-TSB shift housing in my possession if anyone outside of warranty ever needs one.

I kind love that you threw the 6MT into your 3rd gen. If my 3rd gen wasn't starting to rust off the frame I would have loved to do that. I loved that truck, my only gripe was only having 5 gears
