I know she's a turtle starting out but these impatient ATL drivers are not aware. Guess I have to get use to getting honked at. Feel like I'm in F1 in the higher gears compared to the old shitbox 4runner I had tho so I'll get over it.

First time owning a manual, plus it being the nicest truck I've ever owned, every little tic gives me a slight panic attack, thanks for the help.

Congrats on your first manual and you should look into a tune. There is a few in the performance section if you wanted to check them out

Alright I finally got my Unicorn Cu... I mean Tears in the mail.

    Its a FORD product?!

I feel like letting a ford product anywhere near a Toyota is sacrilegious

Hopefully you'll feel different about that, once those "tears" get in your transmission.

I dont see how a fluid change on low mileage tacomas can improve shifting. Is the fluid from factory synthetic? If so, I dont see how one can improve upon it. I just got my manual, 700 miles in and I don't believe the gear oil is the issue. It's just the truck, drive it correct and the gear oil is fine. If I change any gear oil it won't be until 10k, and that will probably be the last time ever. Even if I got to 220k like my tundra.

In my experience the first service fill should be changed maybe not after 700 mi but maybe 5k-10k because there is no filter in there to capture the debris. After that following the manual is good because sure you could probably run it as a lifetime fill but again no filter in the system and albeit smaller there still will be wear material that will cause more wear to the gears, bearings and seals. Plus i find you can usually feel when the fluid degrades so for i found acdelco syncromesh is toast after 25'000-30'000kms or 2 years where as amsoil 75w-90 manual trans oil is good for around 70'000-80'000 kms before the sifting sucks
