I'd get a spare with no chip, and attach it to yourself somehow. Idk if your wetsuit has pockets or anything..

I was blown away when I took delivery of the truck and they handed me the two keys. No more valet key/fobless key. Took it to a dealership to get one made, but I don't think they knew what they were doing because the key they cut didn't work. I'm sure it can be done by either a dealership or a locksmith.

as to te fob if you have push to start then hide it inside your not in the proximity that allows the truck to be started! and the lock door with key and hide key inside the backside of a wheel (choose a different wheel as needed) or inside fuel door etc. old tricks from towing cars

I really like the Hitch Safe. There are a few similar options out there. http://www.hitchsafe.com/
Or if you're handy, it's not too hard to make something similar on your own using one of the combination lock style hitch pins.

I was looking into something a little different but same concept. I wonder though how well the combination style holds up to the elements over time.

It is a valet key you want, don't let them program the microchip, so it will only open the door. So you might need to check a few lock smiths. If you are in San Clemente the lock place across from Ace Hardware can do it.
