The manual gets nowhere near that in my experience. I have logged every single tank for close to 16k miles and the best I've seen for a tank is 19.9. Truck is averaging 17.5.

Tank average and instant at a constant 70mph are two different things! Mine gets 21 to 22 with no wind at 75. Tank average though is 19 to 20. Occasionally down in to the mid 18s when really cold

Yeah I get 26-28 mpg driving 55-60 but that's instantaneous. I have put up some pretty stupid tank averages with the manual though because of our speed limits. Feather the peddle, accelerate down hills, coast up hills, neutral coast.

Yeah. You can click on my sig for the details, or I've copied a graphic of the first 46 fillups. I put a camper shell/ side steps on when I bought it, but I doubt that changes much. Other than that, it's mostly stock.

I've driven stick my whole life. I actually wanted to switch to Auto, mostly out of laziness. But once I started doing research and test driving these 3rd gens I changed my mind. Put down a deposit on a manual Off-Road.

I just logged another two tanks.

First tank 87 OCT spent most time on the highway at 70-75 MPH running up and down 25: 20.3 MPG

Second tank around town averaging 35-50 MPH: 21.4 MPG

I drive like old man river with the exception of entrance ramps. I don't care how short they are, I'm merging at the posted speed. I could probably pull an extra .5 MPG if I wasn't heavy footed on ramps.

ill still have to take about a 3000 dollar bath on it at this point.

im waiting a few more months until its paid down a bit. i know it sounds dumb but i have an issue with throwing that amount of money away. Iv only had the truck for about 9 months. 9 horrible automatic shifting issue months.
the dealers around here wont give me a fair price for it because of our location. it sucks.

it gets so frustrating at times that i just park the truck and drive something else.

    ah well.

The MT on my TerdGen in 6th gear can tow 3400 lb trailer comfortably @ ~50-55. 3500 ft elevation where I live, 265 70 17's. Save for rolling hills when 4th and 5th is used.

Sorry to hear this, but that is exactly what I went through. I was able to eventually get a dealer that would offer me more and discount their truck as well. I miss the JBL that my auto had, but that's it. I haven't regretted getting the manual at all and for that reason alone it was worth it to me.

I'm not sure the TRD CAI helped a lot, but I'm sure it helped breathe better. You can probably put a K&N in the stock housing and save some money. I believe the TRD filter is made by them. As for the box, the TRD logo looks good but I don't know that there is much difference, if any, in the TRD vs stock box.
