I don't do it very often because the shifts aren't fast enough to be fun, but yesterday I think I noticed a change in the way my auto shifts manually.

Before: In either S mode or Normal mode, as much as I can remember I could shift up or down just about anytime and the tranny would make the shift. The only exception was that it would prevent a downshift if I was going too fast for the gear I was shifting to.

Now: In normal mode, it still shifts on command, unless I'm shifting at a lower RPM than it wants to be at. Then it waits to shift until it's ready. In "S" mode, so far I haven't been able to manually shift it above 4th gear. The indicator shows 5th and 6th gears, but it doesn't shift.... at least up to 60 mph. I didn't have an opportunity to get above 60 when I was trying this.

As mentioned above, I think this is a change. I'm not 100% certain, but I was hoping that others might have noticed if there is a difference. If there is, I'm sure it happened when I got the Tranny TSB reprogram.

This is not a complaint about the Tranny or shifting. I'm content. Just a post to see if anyone has noticed a change in the way it shifts manually.

    Thanks

My s mode still just limits the highest gear the truck will go to and does away with the learned behavior of D. Same as it always did.
