There is another thread on this but it died, so I will explain my problem here hoping for help.

I ordered blue LED lights for the map and dome lights from Amazon to put in my 2016. I was in a hurry trying to replace the bulbs and when replacing them, one of the bulbs snapped and blew the fuse.

So, I removed the broken bulb, replaced the bulb, and also replaced the fuse.

All the lights still work, but they are either all on at the same time or all of at the same time.

For example, the switch above head in the cab that has 3 modes (off, on when doors open, and all on). When the switch is moved to the off position, all of the lights are off like normal. When the switch is on the other 2 positions, all of the lights will come on at the same time and will not go off until the switch is moved to the off position.

This is VERY frustrating trying to get into my truck at night time with no lights, also trying to find things in the dark. Anyone know what the hell I did???? Thanks!!!!!!!!!

I had this happen one day, but I have not replaced any bulbs with LEDs.
Do you currently have the LEDs installed?
Somewhere a door switch is grounded.
Could be factory, could be water, or the led.
LEDs have high inrush current; could have fried the switch in that position. Did you install the lights with power to the socket?

The LEDs are still installed and I can't remember but I think i turned them off. I am pretty sure. There was another TW member that did the EXACT same thing I did

If you hooked them up while the doors were open and shorted the power wire from the body control module you could have fried the timer for the dome lights. Unless its built into the dome light, havent had one apart yet. I know the Tundras are a simple stamped circuit board, had one short out from the factory and screwed up the body control module.

Just joined TW because of this post. I'm in the same boat. I was following the original thread as well, which I'm hoping is not dead. I've been reading up on this is issue. Lots of talk on other forums about needing resistors with many other vehicle brands when converting to LED, but don't think that's the solution to this particular problem. Totaled my 2004 2 weeks ago after 12 years of ownership in a rollover accident, so a new Tacoma was my only logical choice. Have inspected/switched out many of the fuses I was comfortable touching but no luck. Bought the truck 100 mi from home so back to the dealer it not an option right now. If I figure it out I will report back. Until then I feel your pain. Im hating on it right now. Otherwise, kinda nice!
