Map Lights on with Dome light

There's more to it than just swapping the terminal location. Read first post thoroughly.

 

Yeah man all I had to do was run that wire from the tab you bend out to the dome light and the mod worked as intended
Didn’t need to do any other steps

 

How's it going Caribe Makaira quick question for you, So I recently purchased a 2007 tacoma map light for my fj cruiser (which does not have a map light at all) so I am going to wire it from my center dome light. Looking at the diagram that you have for the map light connector I want to make sure I understand it right. So for the Mod'd version M3 connector the middle pin (#2 is constant power) (#3 is door) and (#1 would be ground). Correct me if I am wrong.

 

My issue is that the head unit I ordered didnt come with the connection clip so I was going to make my own and I would need to know which number correlates to " ground, current and door". to my understanding (3 is door) (2 is constant power) and (1 is ground)

Thank you for all of your help caribe_makaira!!! I found this on ebay 1x Connector 3-way for Rear Light 90980-10908 w/out wire | eBay looks like a little kit with the non-sealed terminals and everything.

A little off topic, so I have replaced the map lights with both regular bulbs and led ones, but they don't get to work
The DOME does work, so I am not sure if anyone has faced this issue. I tried using one of those things that check for current and got nothing (did got something on the DOME)

Is there a change that my cable for map lights is bad? where could I find the other end?
If that is the case, is there a way to feed the current from the DOME to the Map lights?
