I just brought home a 2020 Tacoma TRD Off Road. It has Apple Play but no built in Map for navigation. I assumed this would be standard as it was in my previous Tacoma. Did something change?

The built in navigation is worthless, just be glad you can run google maps on it

If you have Apple car play you won't need the Entune navigation anyway.

I believe you need the advanced audio package to get embedded navigation/maps.
If carplay is enabled that button launches my default map app (google maps) rather than giving an error about navigation not being installed which is nice

You can also download google maps for offline use so you always have navigation

They have two styles of Nav, connective, and integrated.

Yeah nobody liked it apparently, except for me, so they got rid of it. Im actually really happy with the entune NAV... especially love the track log feature for off roading.

I just got off the phone with Toyota and it did not come with built in NAV. So I’ll use Apple Car Play. Thanks

For real it's honestly a good navigation to get you from A to B to A again... if you're trying to find the fastest route home from work then use Google maps for real time traffic but if you're not driving through rush hour traffic then the entune navigation does just fine in my experience.

you’re not alone. I’ve bought dozens of Toyota’s and never had to make sure I had the map option included. I do t really care because Entune navigation is garbage but it bugs me more that there is a button labeled maps that does nothing. Simple solution, I’ll just replace the head unit :D

I'd be happy to trade my 2018 premium entune head unit with navigation
