    maybe someone who's been there can chime in, but i was under the impression that you CAN get designated camping sites, but you can also pay a "backpacking fee" and camp where you want. i'll call tomo if no one is for sure on this..

    what's his #.. i'll talk to him :D

    It looks like a $8/person turkey bay specific camping fee, which is fine. So we do that and then try to find some sites when we get there I guess?

    The genius in me tells me that I'm gonna pay $8 to camp at a site the first night, let everyone else get there, then when we have a full day, go trail riding and see where we can set up camp for the rest of the weekend. This would all be different if someone was very familiar with the rules, camp site, and territory but everyone seems to be ignorant to all of this. So the intelligent and simple answer to this is for us to meet up on Thursday and camp at the camp grounds, head out Friday morning and do some remote camp searching, if that's how everyone wants to camp, and then lead everyone to that spot who's coming on friday. Unless of coarse everyone just wants to collectively camp at the camp ground. If not, then we need to follow the plan proposed above .....

    For what its worth, I think I'm in on this one. New to the area, checked out LBL for the first time this past weekend and enjoyed it. Didnt make it to Turkey Bay nor am I looking at doing crazy enough stuff to break my truck, but I would like to do some ridin with people that know what theyre doin...cuz this guy doesnt. No camping though, only live like 45 min away, and it will most likely be saturday.
