I've been looking to get out with some TW-ers for Sycamore or thereabouts, but I'm up against some harsh time constraints atm. However, I do have a trip planned for March to explore various points of interest east of Flagstaff. Although the chances are slim, I'll throw it out in case anyone has the time and inclination.

Who: Myself and 1-2 other vehicles + anyone from here
What: Checking out cultural, historical and geologic sites
    When: March 11-13 (2 nights)
Where: North and south of I-40 between Flagstaff and Holbrook
Conditions: 4x4 or Locked; Attendees are asked to not disclose the location of one or two of the sites; One of the places visited will cost $35

Just a bunch of old crap
I'm very interested in this trip. Please PM me the details. I'm located in North Phoenix so Flagstaff is a regular visit for me. I'm highly interested in cultural sites around AZ so this is right up my alley. I'm expo ready with RTT and fully self sufficient. March is open for me at the moment, but I do have business travel that pops up a couple times per month. 3 day weekends are best, but I'm flexible.

Things are looking good for this trip, except the broken door handle... fts

Rally point is 4Sons/Chevron on Carefree Hwy just east of 17.... March 11, 8am. We'll hit Flag and start roaming easterly, dispersed camping 2 nights (different spots) and returning via 87 through Payson on Sunday. Combo pavement/graded/crawling... some conditions unknown. One POI will cost $35 each, cash. Some of this is purely exploratory... no idea what to expect (so expect the unexpected).

Well the trip was a success with good weather (minus some wind ~35%), no mech issues, some solid 4x4, interesting sights, excellent outdoor times. We didn't get to everything, but we still covered a lot of ground. I may eventually throw up a few pics. 2 Tacomas, 2 Forerunners. Basic travel log:

    1. Grand Falls
    2. "Inscription Rocks" (place where pioneers/travelers inscribed names/dates on some rocks)
    3. Canyon Diablo (ghost town/bridge)
    4. Clear Creek Canyon
    5. Rock Art Ranch (historic ranch + indian ruins/petroglyphs)
    6. "The Cracks" (area of strange, deep fissures in the ground)
    7. Chavez Draw/Pass/Ruins (largest unexcavated indian ruins in state)
